There’s no way in hell they can bring back Griawfol next year, if they do this organization is more fucked up than anyone can imagine.
-
I did not know that, how did they dump him and over what. I know he ripped the 2024 White Sox which everybody and his uncle has. I still say he would make a good manager somewhere.
-
I’ve always felt that former Catchers make the best managers, I’d go with A J Pierzynski.

There’s nothing that can save his ass except JR keeping him since he has to pay him. If somehow JR spends big time this offseason on free agents and the Sox have a chance of winning next year then Griawfol will be gone. -

What kind of play was he not hustling on? Nothing is going to change with him, he’s going to show spurts of brilliance but will return to what we see most of the time, another Claudell Washington. -
Rickwood Negro League game and Mays Tribute
The Mighty Mite replied to chitownsportsfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Top of the 5th brought back a lot of memories of watching the Sox and Cubs in black and white on WGN back in the 50s, Fox did an amazing job with their replication of those days. -

I’m going to surprise you with my second pick, I’d go with Robert Clemente. -
Remembering Willie Mays - the Say Hey Kid.

I’ve always said that if I had to pick one player in the history of the game to start an MLB team it would have to be Willie, he was truly a 5 tool player. -
The Say Hey Kid is gone, one of the greatest and most exciting baseball players ever. I was lucky enough to see him play a few times at Wrigley in the late 1950s, may he rest in peace.

That’s a fact.

Another thing, the White Sox all time record right now is 9572-9545, IIRC after the GO GO years the White Sox all time record was around 250 games over .500 now down to 27 games over. At the end of 2024 the Sox all time record for the first time since I became a Sox fan will be under .500. Of the original 16 teams the only teams under .500 are the Twins (old Senators), Athletics, Orioles ( Browns) and the Phillies. Sox W-L record by decade, does not include the 2024 season.

He’s a traitor, Rory choked with bogeys on 3 of the last 4 holes. -

Because we have a jerk for an owner. -
DeJong has a good chance of breaking the record for most homers by a Sox shortstop held by Jose Valentin who had 30 in 2004.
-
Someone will probably take a chance on them but for peanuts with some incentives.
-
4 homers! Murderers Row! This team is still bad but they are much more likable (except for Grifol) than the 2022 and 2023 White Sox. They should just DFA Eloy and Moncada, those 2 have never been likable and are not needed any longer.

My guess is 39, maybe 40.

Story on Sox trade possibilities...
The Mighty Mite replied to Lip Man 1's topic in Trade Winds 2024
Please don’t trade Crochet and Robert, they need to build around those two guys. You never know what you’re going to get in return, look at the Sale trade, how did that work out. -
Thanks for the correction, it was 9 in a row.

Sox City Connect/Southside jerseys ranked #5

Especially the Rays. -
I was, great time but the ironic thing is when we won the pennant in 1959 the Yankees weren’t much of a factor that year. Cleveland wound up second and I remember a key series in late August when we went into Cleveland and swept a 4 game series against the Indians in front of huge crowds, IIRC there were 70,000 for the Friday night game and over 60,000 for the Sunday DH. The 60s came along and the Yankees went to the WS 5 straight years from 60 to 64, the Sox had their best chance in 64 finishing 1 game behind the Yanks but the Sox had to win the last 10 in a row to finish that 1 game behind. The Sox were damn good in 63,64 and 65 winning more games than any other team in MLB those 3 years but never saw the post season, they won 94, 98 and 95 games those 3 years, the best 3 consecutive years in Sox history.

No, a complete housecleaning is needed.
