  1. Not saying that at all, the Sox stink in everything related to pitching not just all the blown saves. They did have a lot of Ks but that is a mixed blessing because it means you are usually throwing more pitches which meant that our starters very seldom pitched over 5 innings, too many walks also. Of course the hitting was equally bad. It’s going to be interesting to see how they can improve as Hahn states they plan on contending in 2024 as there is no help from the Minor Leagues and it’s not the greatest year coming up for free agents.
  2. Sox are tied in most blown saves with Balt at 23, Minny has 21and Cleve. 22. Sox are lowest in the league in save percentage at 45%. For comparison the Red Sox lead the AL with a save percentage of 79% blowing only 8 saves.
  3. The Sox and Guards tied the series each with 2 wins, Cleveland won Thursday night and yesterday while the Sox won Friday and Saturday.
  4. The 83 team from late May to the end of the season played the best baseball that I’ve ever seen by a Sox team, it felt like they were unbeatable and then came the playoffs with the Britt Burns game still giving me heartburn. How about the 2000 team? 975 runs scored, 216 homers, .286 BA and an .826 OPS
  5. Attended the July 31,1977 DH, 50,000 on hand and when the Sox came back and won the first game the place went insane, I never heard the place as loud as that day, it was actually shaking all the way to the rafters. I’ve always wondered what would have happened if we won that second game but we didn’t and a week later the Royals swept us in KC and went on to take the division. Too bad for the Sox but 1977 was still one of the most fun years in White Sox history with the Southside Hitmen pounding the baseball like Sox fans had never seen before including 192 homers which IIRC broke the club record by 54. Billy Pierce was my second favorite White Sox player of all time and was a great person, it stinks he’s not in the Hall of Fame. Tears came to my eyes 8 years ago today when he passed
  6. It’s sad when our starting corner outfielders have a total of 3 home runs.
  7. The Championship window has been closed for quite awhile now, it started closing after the All Star break in 2021.
  8. Not sure even the Rays could fix him, he’s a head case.
  9. Kopech is wearing out his welcome, what can we get for him.
  10. I don’t get him batting 5th either. Is Eloy hurt, can’t be tired from DHing.
  11. Unfortunately with this team, a winning streak is usually 2 games. They did look good the last 2 games and maybe they can keep it going for a week or so.
  12. Exactly correct on Kopech. I’d give Crochet a shot and see what we have, can’t hurt much.
  13. At 6’2” 230 Lbs, had there been a bigger second sacker than Jake?
