  1. Correct, he’s not doing it on purpose, he’s just not qualified for the job, he put together a joke of a team that he thought was going to be competitive and then when it came time to trade the few assets we had he was fleeced. He should resign after the last out on Sunday. We as fans are done with patience, no more rebuilds, we want the club to be run like a big market franchise, not the Pirates or the Royals, they need to bring in the best GM and manager available along with coaches who know what they’re doing. They also must start spending money and sign free agents while building a viable farm system with good scouts and instructors, not people who are just collecting pay checks, if Reinsdorf isn’t willing to do this then he must sell the club to hopefully someone who will do everything I mentioned,
  2. Whatever but I’m not changing what I think, I’ve never been a fan of Moncada, I see so much of Moncada in Robert with a lackadaisical attitude especially after another strikeout or a horrible at bat.
  3. 6, but I’m also going with another reason, I think Moncada was a bad influence on him.
  4. I don’t give 2 shits about Benetti, only announcer I knew that put fanny’s in the seats was Harry Caray.
  5. From what I heard from both of them during the announcement was that Schriffen will be back and they look forward to working together again.
  6. Hopefully he will be selling a good product in the near future. Back to Stone, just a few days ago he was saying that this year has been a huge strain on him, is there a chance that JR is selling or that he assured Stone that he would maybe bring on some free agents and turn this disaster around ASAP
  7. Just announced that Stone will be back for multiple years. Schriffen needs some work but I think eventually he will be OK. I like his enthusiasm.
  8. The fans who show up should give the players a break, most of them are minor leaguers who have been rushed to the big club, the others just aren’t good major leaguers, any wrath shown should be directed at the architects of this disaster, Reinsdorf and Getz.
  9. Some interesting comments and I have nothing really to add except I’m going to mention 3 names that IMHO contributed to a toxic clubhouse starting back in 2021, Tony LaRussa, Yoan Moncada and Tim Anderson. That’s all I have.
  10. Too funny, he’s another loser that will probably be out of baseball soon.
  11. I agree, something is going to happen, JR has been raked over the coals with his old, ancient and cheap way of running the franchise and not just locally, there have been more than few articles nationally. The man is hated and if he has any pride and shame at all why go on, he’s too old for another rebuild, I think he’s selling, I’m sure the tax genius will figure something out.
  12. You can work your tails off until it hurts but there’s a thing called talent and this team might be the least talented in the history of the game, the records of the individual players speak for themselves. I wonder how hard the guy with the most talent works, that’s Robert and he still hasn’t figured out how lay off the low and outside breaking ball, does the guy watch any videos, I will say that Vaughn has done a little better in that regard compared to last year.
  13. I have no idea how any of this gets fixed, new ownership is the only salvation.
  14. As I mentioned recently, the franchise is on life support. There have numerous articles lately on how bad an owner JR is, does the man have any kind of a clue, is he showing any remorse at all, does the jerk have any pride at all. If he refuses to sell then he must change his modus operandi and start spending money on free agents and bring in the best GM and field manager he can find, this OJT must stop. Im sure there isn’t one other team that would have hired Getz, this guy should resign immediately, the guy is a compete joke, a failure who is in way over his head. What other team would have hired Grifol, at least someone figured out that he was horrible. If we see a repeat of this year in 2025 the Sox probably will see the fan base dwindle down to nothing, they can then move their games out to Wintrust Field in Schaumburg where they won’t come close to filling the place up.
  15. I met Jungle Jim Rivera when I was working the pro shop at the Naples Beach Golf Club about 25 years ago and I remember him telling me how upset the team was that Billy didn’t get a start especially in game 6. Lopez was probably right in not starting Billy out in LA with the Left field foul pole only 250 feet away even though they put up a 40 foot high screen from to the foul pole to beyond left center field. I still think Lopez is the best Sox manager in their history but for early October of 1959, he had a horrible brain fart.
  16. I’ll never forget my boyhood heroes especially Nellie and Billy. Tribune has one of the pictures wrong, that’s Early Wynn not Big Klu, Early who won the Cy Young award in 1959 but him holding a bat in the picture is not all that funny as he was a very good hitter. 3 sad things, Minnie Minoso was not with the Sox in 1959, he was traded after the 1957 to Cleveland for Early Wynn and Al Smith, we got him back in 1960 and in first game back on opening day he hit 2 homers including a walk off. Billy Pierce did not start a game in the World Series which pissed off all his teammates and every Sox fan in the country, bad blood between manager Al Lopez might have been one of the reasons but no one knows for sure. We lost the Series in 6 games and IMHO game 2 which I attended might have been the turning point. After winning game one, 11-0 we were trailing 3-1 in the 8th, we had a nice rally going, with no outs and Landis on 2nd and Lollar on first, Smith doubled to left center with Landis scoring easily but Lollar was out by a mile at home plate, why 3rd base coach Tony Cuccinello sent the slowest runner in the league trying to score the tying run remains a huge mystery. The rally came to a screeching halt and it carried over to the games in the LA Coliseum, we lost the next 2 but managed to squeak out a 1-0 victory in game 5. The Series returned to Comiskey for game 6 but Lopez gave Wynn the start on 2 days rest, he was gassed at the Dodgers were World Champs, Lopez messed up and should have started Pierce saving Wynn for game 7.
  17. The only thing I’m sorry about is that Jerry Reinsdorf still owns the White Sox and has done a great job of just about destroying the franchise, right now IMHO the franchise is on life support.
  18. It just keeps getting uglier and uglier, who is going to be able to fix this mess.
  19. Wrigley Field sits in the middle of a huge populated area, I remember reading an article many years ago about how many people are a short walking distance from Wrigley, I can’t remember the number but it was quite substantial. When I was in kindergarten and first grade in the early 50s we lived on Dakin and Sheridan and remember walking to Wrigley with my parents to see of all things, a Rodeo with the Star attraction being the Cisco Kid and Pancho. I went to LeMoyne elementary school on Addison and Fremont, 2 blocks from the ballpark.
  20. Benintendi has come around also, he’s healthy and we’re seeing what we thought what kind of a player he was but defensively he’s another Ralph Garr, worst arm I’ve ever seen for an outfielder.
  21. A Series win, get the confetti out, parade on State Street tomorrow.
