This game is out of hand with Lynn still in there, Ohtani and Trout have hit massive tape measure shots. LAA up 8-1. We need to sweep Detroit over the weekend or this season is over and they can start to sell some of these guys, I can’t wait to see some of them out of here. -

Thanks, I now seem to remember the Sox drafting him. -

Who is Montgomery? -
Trading TA to the Dodgers for rookie pitcher Bobby Miller would work for me, he is the grandson of my best friend when I grew up in Rogers Park. Bobby is off to a great start winning his first 2 starts beating the Braves last Tuesday and beating the Nats last night, let up 1 run in each start, throws the ball 100MPH.

Another typical Sox loss with 11 Ks and 1 walk. 12 games under .500 with a tough schedule coming up in June. We will be sellers pretty soon. Moncada and Robert are back in their useless mode, 8 ABs last night with 6 Ks. Robert never makes adjustments while at bat, same swing regardless of the pitch location, just doesn’t have baseball smarts. Kopech wasn’t bad after the first inning, there’s still hope for him. If we sell, what scenario should be used, do we rebuild again or trade for players that will hopefully contribute immediately, I’m too old for another failed rebuild.

2023 Memorial Day - White Sox State of the Union
The Mighty Mite replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The Cardinals were almost an afterthought in their last years in Chicago, never sold out unless they were playing the Bears plus Papa Bear Halas did everything he could to make life miserable for the Cardinals as he was the unofficial Commissioner of the NFL for many years. The Sox aren’t an afterthought in Chicago but are nowhere close to Chicago becoming a Sox town, the last place Cubs drew 40,000 yesterday and 38,000 today, the Sox tonight will probably draw around 20,000. BTW Cubs Strohman pitched a great complete game today, shut out the Rays on 1 hit. -

I’m going on 78 and running out of time, so far in 71 years of fandom I’ve seen them in 2 World Series and to be honest and sad about it the odds are I won’t see another one. -
A long time for me is back in the 50s and 60s with Paul Richards, Al Lopez and Eddie Stanky who were all great managers especially Lopez who is the best Sox manager of all time. Chuck Tanner in the early 70s was pretty good also.

Good for him, on a pace for 3 for the year.

Because the last hiiting coach wanted them to hit singles and not swing for the fences. Could be one of the reasons that Abreu only hit 15 homers last year and has none for the Astros this year.
-
Hawk hired Jim Fregosi who was experienced and was a good baseball man but had bad players. Jeff Torberg was also a good hire. Firing Renteria and bringing in TLR was one of the biggest blunders in White Sox history.

Our hitting coach was a career minor leaguer for 14 years and never made to the Major Leauges.

The Tigers will score in the bottom of the 10th, trust me.

Kelly deserves better.

Best player on the field screws up.
