I'm up there in years and started following the Sox in 1952 and remember many many things. I remember when TLR actually played in the Majors starting with the Kansas City A's in 1963 and finishing up with the Flubs in 1973, amazed he lasted that long, he was a real scrub. I also remember when I was a friend of Jimmy Piersall and how he hated TLR and Jimmy would call me at at all hours of the day and night on how TLR screwed up when the Sox lost a game. Of course who can forget when TLR, Leyland and another coach went down to the broadcast studios after a game and confronted Jimmy, how bush league was that, tells you what a jerk TLR really is. PS Can one of the MODS or someone else tell me why I keep getting a notification in the address bar that this is not a secure site.

We need Cease on Saturday to step it up and throw a shutout, we should have a pretty good chance of winning if that happens. -

The handwriting was on the wall starting after the All Star break last season and nothing was done to improve the club in the off season. -

No you're not stupid, it's the manager who is stupid besides being moronic, idiotic and brain dead. -

We usually make a trip to the Trop when the Sox visit St. Pete but I'm so upset and depressed with this team and the manager right now that we will probably take a pass this year. If we go it will be on Sunday so we have time to make our final decision. -
That seems a bit high, more than a bit high.

Good points, I remember in the 50s and 60s when Chicago was a Sox town. The thing is that the Sox will never have a Wrigley Field where they open the gates and 30,000 flock in regardless of how bad the Cubs are plus they get the out of towners. I can't tell you how many people I have met down here in Florida that visited Chicago and saw a ballgame at Wrigley but not Sox Park.

I don't want the Sox to ever leave Chicago even though I'm a Floridian now as I have lived in the Sunshine State for 29 years. I am curious as where this untapped potential that you speak of is in the Chicago market. My guess is that over 60% of the market belongs to the Cubs plus the city and the metro area are declining in population, the metro area lost 91,000 people from 2020-2021.

Being a North Carolinian, might Jordan move them to Charlotte?
-
Do you think they would join the Bears in Arlington Heights? I think the Sox would do great in the burbs, too bad they were turned down in their efforts to move to Addison back in the late 80's. I have always thought that somewhere near the Hillside Strangler was a great location with all those expressways converging there much like the Orange Crush near Anaheim Stadium. A stadium near that location would put them just about smack dab in the middle of the Metropolitan area.

When JR dies, who exactly would take over, would it one of the other investors? I'm not sure if JR's son would automatically take over. Either way, I would love to see new ownership of the franchise.

The old adage is, "you can never have enough pitching".
