  1. I mean, regardless of affiliations, i do think we can agree that media is skewed. I'm not sure why anybody would trust media on either end. The same reasons people who watch CNN don't believe/trust Fox News is the same exact reasons they shouldn't trust CNN. And vice versa. The model of news is clicks. that's how they get paid. Not many people want to read objective news. if they did, then naturally that model would be the most prevalent because people would read those articles. They dont, and we're left with what we have and left to dissect the nuggets we get. There are those who are more gullible, lazy, intuitive, naive, paranoid, better critical thinkers etc. than others which results in a message board like this and others across the internet. In the case of Covid it's pretty clear the narrative that is being driven, and anybody who questions or tries to think outside of the "norm" gets lambasted. there's not just one path to immunity and or/or staying healthy and out of the hospital, but based on the everyday news, one would be lead to believe that. Regardless if you are pro vaccine, pro natural immunity, or indifferent the science would indicate at this time that masks (real ones) and testing are the safest measure if you're trying to avoid spread. vaccinations are the safest if you're trying to avoid hospital. But if you listen to just the tv? It makes absolutely no sense, and does not do well for anybody when you have Fauci ignore or skate natural immunity questions. Same with ridiculous rules like being able to go to a Bulls game with a vaccine, no testing, but need a test if unvaccinated. In theory that "reduces" the chances of spread to various degrees, but by no means is it the solution they'd lead you to believe. Putting on masks at restaurants? the safest person is the hostess, after that? its theatrics to make people feel good about themselves. all those sanitation wipes everywhere nowadays? good for other diseases and viruses, Covid? ha. The world needs more people questioning things. That's science. Science is questioning things - aka hypothesizing and then testing and trying to determine the results. If you're not questioning the media, the government, those in power, etc then you're not being very smart. The world has always consolidated to a few, the history of freedom and democracy is very light. We've been around for a long, long time. Freedom hasn't been. Hoping this copys and pastes below. If not i provided the link ... that only goes back to 1816 in the chart ... i don't want to alarm anybody but prior to 1816 democracy wasn't a larger portion, it was even smaller. So really, we're talking about something new in the last 70 years. That's about as fragile as that gets, and STILL only 50% of the world .... so yah, covid? bad. but there may be bigger fish to fry, like the fragility of power and democracy. we're the exception, not the rule. and you see these places like australia falling apart, hong kong, etc. so forgive people like myself or rabbit for maybe questioning things ... because historically humans are bad at not letting power, money, etc. corrupt and consolidate to a few. <iframe src="https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/world-pop-by-political-regime?stackMode=relative&country=~OWID_WRL" loading="lazy" style="width: 100%; height: 600px; border: 0px none;"></iframe> https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/world-pop-by-political-regime?stackMode=relative&country=~OWID_WRL if you're not questioning autocracys like china ... and where Covid came from ... how it was first reported that no way it was out of a lab .... and how they silenced those who questioned it ... deplatformed for asking the question ... to where we are now ... to how bio warfare as a very effective tool ... to cheap goods in china ... to everything, then frankly, you're not thinking enough. and maybe that suits you well, but it doesn't suit your children or your children's children very well and if our ancestors didn't do that critical thinking, then guess what? you wouldn't be so blessed to wake up on American soil, because they took a look at their lives and said, i gotta get out. this isn't right. And more poeple around here need to look at life through that lense than just simple jab = good and if not, toss the others aside.
  2. Good to see Vaughn sitting. Give the kid some rest and let's get him ready to rock in a week or so. Engel should be back pretty soon anyways, guessing by weekend.
  3. thank god playoffs are returning to all their travel/off days with this team. i have squarely been in the "it's only a backup catcher" camp all season. and i was wrong. those extra off days really tip the scales to our type of team ... we have three really top SP who should benefit, and we have Yasmani who now only has to basically play 2 days in a row, at least through the first series.
  4. I tried presenting stats on this earlier. It doesn't go well. Just a fair warning hah. I don't think it's that controversial to say it's a few things. Yes, republicans, those who in general want less government (though nowadays dems and republicans are almost the same minus a few hot button issues ... like a republican today was a democrat 40 years ago ... but i digress) are choosing not to get the vaccine. I don't think there's any denying that. now do i think its because they dont believe in science? i don't. i think it's more the angle of being skeptical of government bodies and weighing the risks of covid against other possibilities. and secondly, it's very much black and brown and poor people not taking it, which, historically would be democratic voters. all the above said, historically about 60% of people vote in any given election. that leaves 40% ... so applying RED V. BLUE leaves 40% of people unaccounted for. Oh weird ... there's about 40% unvaccinated. maybe 40% just are people who just want to be left alone.
  5. maybe ... mccullers, greinke, garcia, odorizzi, valdez?? i haven't looked into their splits very much. uquirdy is there too ... two old school minds competing ... dusty and TLR. wild. wonder if that's the oldest combined ages of managers ever for a playoff game? on paper we should have the pitching advantage. garcia is still pitching well of late, but hes way past his normal IP as a rookie. valdez has been struggling. mccullers is kind of giolito like. when hes locked in and has his slider he's one of the best, if not? then he's a bit erratic. it will be a fun, fun series. they have bats galore, but one can argue now that we'd be healthy with eloy and robert, so do we.
  6. I wouldn't mind this. Or if Engel is almost ready? He's played 4 games in AAA now. I am all for rotating some of these guys into "fake'ish" IL stints. We're playing for one game in the ALDS - now it's possibly the biggest game of the season if it's game 5, but that's it. Let's get everybody rested and ready. it's a blank slate come playoffs and you want to have a full arsenal ready to go. Vaughn is an important piece and hasn't had a grind of a season like this before. Give him 10 days off and just have him in cryo and hot tubs and massages, etc. recharge and comeback in 10 days.
  7. Probably a bit early to look ahead, but at the same time there's very little likelihood that we catch the Rays or that Oakland/Seattle catch Houston. Only thing really TBD is 3 games in Houston or Southside. So wanted to discuss the rotation and how people would like that to lineup for a potential matchup. Lynn - home era 2.60, road era 2.31, day era 1.25, night era 3.18. One GS against HOU, 4ip, 6runs, 13.50ERA. Career 5ERA at minute maid, poor against houston last year with a 12era, 16 runs in 11IP last year. really, he's done poor at 4 ballparks in his career ... wrigley, minute maid, yankee ... and suprisingly PNC. Giolito - Home era 3.79, road era 3.60, day era 4.98, night era 2.92. One game against HOU this year, complete game 3 hitter, 1r. Cease Home era 3.22, road era 5.37, day era 3.05, night era 4.97. 2 GS against HOU, 9ERA, 10R Rodon home era 2.45, road era 2.32, day era 3.40, night era 1.81. 2 GS against HOU, 0.64ERA As much as i love lance lynn and would say he's the ace of this team, his numbers against the Astros over the past 2 years is poor. Every out in the postseason is big, so something to think about when picking game 1/game 5 starter. Meanwhile Rodon has cleaned up against Houston ... has even road/home splits as well. Cease clearly has an advantage pitching during the day and at home. some guys respond okay to different routines, some need that day to prepare. Giolito seems to be one of those guys. and that doesn't surprise me. he seems to be methodical and maybe it's as simple as afternoon games he can't get comfortable in his routines? Of course all of these stats can be skewed by a start or two and not sure how different they look going back to other seasons ... but it's worth discussing. Assuming Houston has a better record, I'd go: Rodon Lynn Travel Day Cease? Giolito Travel Day Rodon or Lynn? This lines up Cease at home, also lines him up in Game 3. I chose this assuming that if things go wrong we'd need a decent amount of innings from the bullpen & that a Kopech/Crochet could be fresh enough 3 days later to come in for high leverage 2IP relief. You could very easily sway me in any rotation breakdown. I'd also consider Giolito out of the gate, switching with Rodon. Cease at 4 makes sense too, because correct me if I'm wrong, but that would lineup for a bullpen day for whoever starts game 3, meaning they could give you an inning? Also wonder how TLR historically has handled arms in the playoffs. I feel like this phenomenon of being on a super short leash is over the past 6-8 years. Like, didn't it really, really start with Bumgarner? Which now that i think of it is like 10 years ago... But either way TLR wasn't really around then. So wonder if he's a quick leash, or maybe more of the Ozzie 5 CG in a row mentality.
  8. Which makes me think there was more smoke than maybe we knew. Or it could've been as simple as the Sox haven't been as high on those two and were willing to use them as bait. We could've offered those two to the Brewers and they laughed us off. The other thing I forget though - when was this rumor out there? A lot of things couldve led to us not resigning Rodon, which would've sent this season in a whole direction.
  9. This. slippery slope indeed. it opens up and allows interpretation of the next "global issue". If I had to take a guess? Global warming. Which is a never ending battle/war. Which can and may lead to a lot of liberties taken away in the name of science.
  10. hey balta ... BOO! It's almost as if i'm not anti vaccine ... and have the vaccine ... and am pro vaccine ... and yet, can question things. isn't that something. i literally started this thread a year ago and was pro vax then, still am.
  11. manufacturing issues MONTHS ago. Wouldn't you think in a world we live in today, with the importance of Covid not only in the USA, but in the world, that maybe over two months they could get things ramped up somewhere? wouldn't that be operation warp speed at the max? wouldn't you think J&J with billions on the line here, along with unmeasurable PR at risk would want to have their vaccine being produced? they'd find every way possible. I read your articles, i read your posts, i digested them. throwing insults my way doesn't make you a smarter person, it makes you come off as an ass.
  12. also it could be as simple as something really strange where you have to call and book j&j vaccine? i dunno. it's just not an option online currently. maybe they are available as it says on the vaccine.gov website, i'd hope that the website is tracking correctly. odds are probably it does track correctly. but i don't understand why they'd make it so tough to obtain a vaccine, or why'd they'd push the 2 shot, mrna version rather than the more prototypical, historical vaccine. because it doesn't protect as well against delta? no booster? there's likely a reason that makes sense. it's more about the odd coverup than it is about the vaccine. which you don't seem to grasp.
  13. Not conspiracy. I'm just not so far on one "team" that i don't question things. And ... like I said ... it's not. You find me an appointment. Have you actually clicked on the websites for Osco, Walgreens, Target and went to make a selection? You can click on the CVS website and it'll show "available" too, but as discussed above, it's very clear they don't carry it anymore. Like, i can click on CVS in Woodridge right now it shows updated 7 hours ago that J&J is available. It's not. Because they don't carry it. So why say they do? That's not a conspiracy, that's a normal question. I am using vaccines.gov .... the government website. Wouldn't you say that's misleading that they are showing it available when it's not? Then try Albertson's/Osco. 50 mile radius of Downers Grove ... zero hits. None available. Do it with Walgreens. You'll end up empty handed. Sorry that you think I'm attacking vaccines or something. I'm saying it's weird that it disappeared silently.
  14. I would venture to guess there are teams of PR people, doctors, politicians, etc. at the White House that crafted that six step plan which included pushing the mandates onto private sector. Just like any meeting I'm sure there were many options discussed and think they chose this option because it's a solution where they can get the most people vaccinated without having to take the full heat. Which is a bad way to make a decision in my opinion.
  15. Not sure why you're getting so worked up here. Yes, they had multiple articles on CVS not carrying it. Yes there were the stories published when they had the issues in manufacturing back in early Summer, etc. Are you telling me that you knew you can't go to Target, Walgreens, Osco, etc and get J&J? You don't have to defend the religion of Covid and vaccines at all costs ... try and find an article where Walgreens or Target isn't administering J&J .... Ask 100 people if they think they can get the J&J shot and what ...95? are going to say it's available? I certainly thought it was still out there. Seeing as you went to Targets website to show me that i was wrong ... means you thought they did too. But that's not actually the case and it seems off to me. That's all. it could be simply supply and demand. likely is. but it's not crazy to question these things out loud.
  16. can't really paint with broad strokes, and i clearly did. which is wrong. but i do think reading this board on this topic it does fall back to the same talking points of generally vax = good, unvax = bad and very black and white. which is very frustrating. vax people seem to have this idea that if all 100% of the US was vaxxed that our lives would just be 100% normal. and i just disagree based on science and math. delta variants, among other future variants will always find their way into the US. some are going to be stronger and some are going to side step vaccines and causes issues. and while i think people should be vaxxed, i also think completely ignoring natural immunity is wild. we don't know the science on natural immunity, but there are clearly hundreds of years of data on other viruses where natural immunity has a good track record and would suspect this would be the same. Life is going to be the vaccine and then boosters on a 6-12 month rolling period until this is lessened. however i'd venture we are in an endemic. you're not going to knock this thing off in india and africa and across the globe. so it will always be mutating and coming back to the US. Some years will be nothing, and then others will be a bad "flu" season where we all should get boosters. I'll check out the 9/11 thing over the next few days/week. I'll be at the game today, so won't have time to watch today. i know my company ... which is HUGE, already sent out their HR response. I was surprised, considering how big we are of the tone of the email. Basic talking points were this poses more questions than answers, would be complicated and said they'd "encourage" us to get vaxxed and to talk to our doctors to see if it was right for us. aka, i dont think they're going to require it, but may give a nice, "gentle" push. my problem is you likely have a table of aids talking about how they can mandate the vaccine without having to do it themselves. Why? because they're worried on how that looks on them during the next election. leaders shouldn't be self-serving. leadership is about doing things for the betterment of your team or people at the expense of yourself. like when someone on my team screws up, even if it was all them, i step in, i take accountability with the client and say this happened under my watch, and its my fault. then you teach your team how to do better. in this case, i dont think that's what is happening. I could be wrong, but that's at least how i'm viewing this pushdown onto the private sector. no real answer there. not sure. but can't see forcing a subset of people who have clearly resisted every opportunity going very well socially.
  17. okay, did you try and click on that target website .... like i said, they SAY it's available, but if you try and schedule a j&J vaccine, its not an option. i just went on target's website, no option for J&J anywhere near downers grove... i scrolled until they wouldn't offer any more options of target locations... not one had J&J. Same thing if you go to the national website to coordinate these vax. they'll say j&J is available at every single osco ... then you go and click, and no option for J&J. same for walgreens, same for every single pharmacy. And also, yes, that's the article i referenced. one article. you don't think that's weird? in a pandemic that consumes the every waking minute of our lives? That ONE of the THREE options of vaccines that are being mandated on a 350mm person population has been taken away? they talk about horse dewormer like 5 times a day, but not that J&J isn't available? I don't know how many times i have to say this, but im vaccinated ... this isn't a "this is a government conspiracy" post. it's a ... uh, why arent they offering J&J and why has there been an effort to keep that so quiet? Like i said, you'll hear about every single other story 10X a day, but this one? One article a month ago about CVS ... other than that ... nada. If i had to take a guess? J&J doesn't have a booster ready or approved and with the variants, they're gonna need boosters. Between that and the early blood clots and complications that demand went down significantly when it was brought back, so instead of stocking them, they just let them run out and didnt order additional rounds... But of course "crazy brian anderson" bringing up anything that questions anything is considered an attack on health!!
  18. Ya, it's tough argue that he hasn't been the glue through it all. I chose Rodon, but that's in part against expectations and how much he has helped this team against our normal #5 starter we've become accustom to over the past 20 years.
  19. Sorry to offend you so much with a poll. Hope you can push through and have a great weekend ... Feel free to write your vote in. I'll make sure to count it into the imaginary soxtalk votes that are registered to the fake mvp award that is (not) awarded to any player in the end.
  20. anybody find it odd that Johnson and Johnson vaccines cannot be found anywhere ... like that's not an option anymore. Some websites will start off saying it is an option, but then only let you choose Moderna or Pfizer. However CVS dropped it entirely. CVS, Walgreens, Albertsons (Osco) etc. .... nothing. not an option. That was done very quietly ... Seems odd to me that this is such a quiet story, that the sites will say they're available and they've updated their websites, but then don't allow you to pick J&J? Maybe you have to specifically call and request? I'm not sure.
  21. I'd handle it with no mandates. no governmental vaccine passports. if individual businesses wnat to do that, that's their rights. i dont think it's smart to lead a majority for a minority problem. cant have the tail wag the dog. yes it's sad. but the most immune compromised have a solution. if they dont believe in the efficacy of the vaccines then they have to make decisions. But to hold back the majority of people for a minority of people who have a solution? doesn't add up. cost benefit analysis isnt there. I'd tell the truth. I wouldn't start a smear campaign against every other possible remedy in the name of the vaccine. I'd promote actual health initiatives. we didn't have a vaccine for almost a year and we spent a ridiculous amount of money on commercials and bullshit. did they tell anybody to get up and move around? or highlight processed foods and their effect on heart disease and your immune system if you get covid? I workout 6 days a week, do you think my risk of complications from covid are the same as a 300lb person? just like hospitals ... you can build out extra facilities like they did in chicago the first wave. they know the hotspots, they have the testing, they can tell where the next zones may be .... but they don't build out facilities? why? because covid doesn't pay well. elective surgeries do. hospitals run thin because they're a business. empty beds hurt margins. so do covid beds. so of course they're going to go on a campaign about not having beds. there are solutions, but they don't want them. if you have 20 beds for normal services, and then a pandemic hits, of course they're going to be overrun. they didn't have excess space. You can't lead with lies and you cant treat society as a nanny state/child. You don't get a healthy society that way. You get a reliant society. reliant on air dropped money. reliant on government to save them. I think they think they're doing it to protect people, but what a mess of a way to do it. How asinine is it to think that your safety against this is ONLY vaccine based. I think the people in the military are ridiculous. it can be good for individuals no doubt. i think it's disgusting that they come into schools and recruit literal kids to go fight for things they can't even begin to comprehend or reason about. But i also think it says something that there's this pushback .... 100,000,000 people can't be without a point. how many times do 100,000,000 people agree on a topic? it might make sense to listen why little johnny is willing to go fight a pointless war in the middle east but doesn't want a vaccine. his points may be hollow, but you may want to listen.
  22. So this one is a bit in the eye of the beholder ... if you just go on results you might quickly say Rodon or Lynn. You might say Abreu. That said, I think it's deeper than that. Without Eloy and Robert we had no DH and no LF going into the year. Where would this team be without that amazing April by Yermin? How about Rodon? With him as our #5 coming into the season I'd guess we were all expecting 15-20 starts of 4.50ERA ball. It's hard to imagine where we are without him. Lynn? He might win the Cy Young, but the expectations were higher. Personally I'd say Rodon was more important to this team. Same with Abreu - it's so consistent it's almost boring, but he puts up numbers. The bench squad? Nothing about Billy Hamilton is sexy, but it's hard to argue the importance of those guys throughout the whole season. Lopez is a late entry. He didn't really come in at a time when wins mattered as much, but he's handled himself quite well. So it's a bit objective of how you look at this team. Will be interested to see the results. my personal order ... and thought process, if you take that guy away, who was the most important to our current success? I'd go: Rodon Anderson Abreu Yermin Lynn Bench Mob
  23. yah republicans are ridiculous. they fall in line behind politics and religion. they're all a mask. most people cant defend their positions and most are hollow and fed to them by the team they want to be on. democrats are not all that different either. I'd probably say i lean more democrat, but i think they're lost in their policies of trying to help the ones who need it the most. the flip side? I'm full of shit too. i have contradictions. we all do. I try to limit them. overall i'm for letting people live their lives. i think an overreach like this, or like the news today that the government is going to mandate employers with over 100 employees that they have to have their people vaccinated, or tested weekly, or take a $14k fine per week? Really? Imagine owning a family business that you grew and now you have to pass that along and deal with all that comes from it. Why? because the government is full of a bunch of pussies that instead of mandating it themselves, push it onto someone else to mandate, and then fine them if they dont. it's a b**** move. This type of move is asinine at best. Forcing 100,000,000 americans to take a vaccine won't end well. Everybody has had more than opportunity, more than enough shaming to make their decision. those 100mm? good luck. (side note, big pharma is gonna love this ... as long as they can continue to sell covid, they have a risk free annuity of boosters every year, go grab that stock) I still go back to this is all for Covid .... for Covid! Imagine a disease that comes along that is more powerful. that is more deadly. Imagine what they're going to do to in the name of "global warming". it's all framing and i think this opens a big can of worms towards a very dangerous path. and not to change subject, that's not anti global warming ... i think it's a bunch of contradictions. they create a hamster wheel economy of cheap money and go, go, go which leads to more and more consumption which drives more and more pollution all in the name of trying to keep the throne of the top power. Fix the money, fix the problems. i think that nuclear is a very safe, cheap, effective clean energy source that has been tossed aside. I think that renewables while good, are not necessarily reliable (see germany). they are going to lead very expensive, unreliable energy into the future and those who will end up paying the most? The bottom half again? they throw away to the side the mining needed to make these solar panels. They for sure ignore the labor used to dig up these components, etc. We all need energy, but when prices go up, the bottom half will get hit hardest again. The ideas? I have no problem with, the execution? i do have a problem with. vaccines are good. there's no doubt they're helpful, but acting like they're the end all be all is questionable at best.
  24. a - not a republican b - not a democrat c - maybe you should stop type casting people c - they're both full of shit d - free healthcare for all. healthcare is a right! but only if you're vaccinated. if not vaccinated then you can rot and die, don't take my hospital beds. Was that supposed to be in green? My body, my choice. But vaccines should be mandated. forced. e - like i said, both sides are full of shit. the hypocrisy runs deep not just politically but across the board individually. people will do anything to justify their sides. I am not tribal to any team. I am an independent thinker. this whole thing is a lot more grey than black or white. This board is a big echo chamber of people who don't care to think and just parrot speaking points they hear on TV without applying critical thinking to the process. Guess what? Covid can be a bad terrible thing, and also overblown. You can care about people, but also understand cost benefit analysis of a small minority of mostly immune compromised, aged people dying against the response, which will have lasting, long-term effects on this generation and future generations. It doesn't make you heartless, it makes you reasoned. Want to rock your mind. I am pro choice, I think a whole shit load of guns should be banned. I am pro do whatever the hell you want to do in your personal life. Pretend you're a cat if you want. Dress up and wear ears and drink milk from a bowl, I don't give a shit. Just don't come looking for handouts. Take personal accountability for your actions. take a vaccine, don't take a vaccine. Whatever. I am for the government staying the hell out of my business. I am pro-police, anti war. I think we shouldn't be in nearly as many peoples business across the globe. I'll go as far as to say if we weren't from the USA we'd all hate us. We go around bullying the world trying to make them into us. I think we're full of lazy, fat, biggoted, entitled, undereducated assholes. I'd bring in immigrants by the boat load. they're hungry, accountable and drive new ideas, culture and business. I am anti religion - it's another layer to hide behind to justify and make people feel better about themselves. but go for hte gold if you want to apply religion as your purpose in life, not my business to get involved in. In fact, the whole world would be a lot better if we just taught all religions and beliefs. St. Pats in the West Loop does this. Teach the background of these religions and the history. It's about understanding. Go worship the God, the sun, or the White sox. I don't really care, it's not for me, but can be for you if you want. I think that big banks and money are the ultimate evil. Money rots the world. People think we were in Afghanistan to try and bring democracy? child please. We're there about oil and poppy fields. They serve up distractions and we eat them with fries. I think that private equity, consolidation and cheap money is rotting the very root of what is good. It's taking away jobs, its funneling money to a few, and leaving the world worse off. I think cheap goods from china are a trojan horse. They're doing it right. we're off fighting 20 year pointless wars, they're over there building roads and hospitals in africa and the middle east in order to have rights and control to rare earth minerals and metals. i think donald trump is an evil egotisitcal old man who is not only corrupt, but possibly the worst person to run a coutntry. god help us if he runs and wins again. i think joe biden is also an ego maniac who has had his best days behind him. i was an andrew yang guy. money should be going back to the poorest. new ideas. UBI, new police training, etc. I think covid, when compared to the possible steps towards some sort of totalitarian society is not worth it. That's not crazy, look at Australia. The endless money printing is going to further divide this country. take youre $1,400 checks and think you're getting something. reality is that was all pissed away in one year of inflation. now everything costs more and the people at the bottom make less. homes are less affordable for a whole subset of people. food is more expensive. We're creating a class society and all in the name of covid. Nothing good comes from divide. I am anti big Pharma. I am anti big corporations. the fact that this board has a 2 year running thread on covid, but nobody fucking cares about opioids, the obese culture we live in, the poor education system, the ridiculous college tuitions, etc. is insane. if people put as much time into those topics we'd be much better off. But unfortunately that's not the case. it's always boiled down to simplicity. simple points for simple people. RED. BLUE. CUBS. SOX. VACCINATED. UNVACCINATED. GOOD. BAD. im sure the next response to this will just be highlighting and picking this apart, that's what this board is about. picking people apart. I say lets do rapid testing or about natural immunity ... and all of a sudden that's controversial. guess what guys? I'm on your team. i'm vaccinated. im just not a sheep. Posted in the Washington Post yesterday. So you either are going to trust a study of "hundreds" or "tens of thousands". I'm sure when this data comes out though that it will be swept under the rug. It doesn't fit the narrative. the article is pretty meh. doesn't offer much in the way of details ... so we'll see what it actually says when it's released. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/vaccines-versus-covid-19-the-great-immunity-debate/2021/09/07/b55f2aca-0fe4-11ec-baca-86b144fc8a2d_story.html While not officially published, a scientific paper announcing the new data has impressed the medical community because it’s based on a study of tens of thousands of people conducted this summer when the delta variant was dominant, and because the researchers measured what matters most: whether people got sick or were hospitalized, not just whether their antibodies changed or some tiny amount of virus was detected in their noses. The new findings might force a rethinking of the current U.S. policy of recommending full vaccination to people who’ve already had a documented case of Covid-19. And, while it still makes sense to encourage anyone who hasn’t had the virus to get the shots, doctors might want to reconsider whether the Moderna version would be a better bet. Several studies, including one out of the Mayo Clinic, show it might offer more durable protection against the delta variant. oh, and again, i'm vaccinated. figure that one out. pro-vaccination, but considering other angles ... weird isn't it? welcome to my tribe, population ONE.
