  1. Foul ball off of Vaughn's bat hurt Twins catcher. He seems to be alright. Other than Abreu confirmed out for series (but back for Yankees) due to tweaking his ankle on the slide home against KC, idk of any other injuries
  2. Solid hitting and approach by Grandal. He won't increase his batting average lmao. But 3-0 Sox is a nice way to start the game. Anything else would be a huge bonus here with Leury coming up and only a guy on 1st.
  3. Ugh, c'mon Vaughn, would have wanted at least a sacfly there. It'll be disappointing if we get any less than three out of this inning. More is ideal, always, but 3 is required. Bullshit strike one call to Yasmani.
  4. Yermin Mercedes is simply unbelieveable. He's actually been pretty clutch for us so far. Two months ago nobody outside of a few of us hardcore Sox fans even knew who this guy was. Now we've had a quarter of a season of prime Frank Thomas. Who knows if it continues but who fucking cares, Yermin for life
  5. I believe it was Newton's fourth law that says "all threads on Soxtalk must eventually become Madrigal threads"
  6. Robot umps. I never thought I would come over to this position but this is insulting
  7. Maybe not best to use Ruiz on a third straight day for his first high leverage inning
  8. Good inning for Foster. I'm still skeptical of him (always was last year despite results tbh), and the Twins ABs were garbage which explained the results, but hopefully this can help right the ship for him
  9. Hopefully he gets the seventh. Maybe TLR figures that the law of averages suggests Foster can't be terrible literally EVERY single time he pitches
  10. crochet would be my choice to start the 6th. we shall see.... these will be a tough 4 to get through. assuming bummer and hendricks get one each idk who else i'd even want pitching the 7th if you only give crochet one.
  11. fuck yes! wow after swinging at all of those balls (any one of which would have tied the game if he literally just stood there) he takes that. props to lynn for getting out of that somehow. can't fucking believe we're still leading in this game- it does NOT feel like we deserve it. let's press our advantage please.
  12. Lmao immediately gives up a double on a 90 mph cutter. Sigh.
  13. Well nearly 100 pitches in so not shocking. As long as that cutter hits 90 I feel fine
  14. him and stone don't believe in jinxes lol - i don't mind them discussing theoretical possibilities
  15. thank god for billy hamilton catching that. i really thought we had thrown this game away that inning off the bat (tbh we have been playing like we're trying to).
  16. it was a joke. if you're a major public figure that gets an important job right after getting charged with a DUI (which is a serious thing), comments/jokes about it are fair game for "credible" posts imo.
  17. TLR masterclass shutting down all the haters. Have all the drinks you want Tony, it's obviously working
  18. Marshall had two really good years with us in 2019 and 2020. He has good stuff at his best. But like, I'm surprised even with that stuff he was able to stay in the league before that. He had the following ERAs from 2015 to 2018: 6.08, 8.80, 9.39, 7.71. I think that's who he is, and I think we're seeing that guy again. I can't imagine he's long for this club. Too bad, I liked the guy.
  19. if ever there was an obvious candidate for regression, it was Happ against the Sox---a lefty with a low ERA and much higher FIP. but we had to execute all the same. i could basically watch an infinite number of white sox beatdowns against the twins and be eternally entertained
