  1. This is true. Nonetheless, Fangraphs' sabermetric approach means their attempts at power rankings (which try to be predictive as I understand them) hold slightly more weight than others. Obviously, they are just projections, and we play the actual games for a reason, but it's certainly a mild reason for optimism and enjoyable to see.
  2. At least his velocity is up a little bit this inning. But yeah this has not been a great performance. If he only gives up 1 run through 4, that would feel quite lucky given how he’s pitched
  3. I mean, at that point as long as the Royals aren't scoring either, you probably are having difficulty attaining the same level of focus, desire, and intensity. The game feels over and you just want to formalize the W. Maybe it shouldn't be like that, but it makes sense to me.
  4. Yeah, especially after spending most of April in first place (although everybody and their mothers knew that wasn't going to last). Not the greatest feeling, I am sure, but the emotion I'm managing to feel for them is schadenfreude.
  5. RIP the scoreless inning streak. Quite a run by the pitching over the last few games though, jesus. Still don't get why Kopech was in this game---why do we even have Foster on the roster at this point? At least Ruiz got some run in a blowout
  6. Given his performance this year, rn seems like the time to use Foster
  7. Tbh anything involving Mahomes still kinda triggers me. I’m not over taking Trubisky in that draft ugh.
  8. Thought Leury had that, damn. Lmao at the Royals shooting off fireworks for that though. Hope Kopech can get out of this one tho.
  9. Not to distract from this fascinating conversation, but Lynn has a knack for recovering every time you think he might be washed for the day.
  10. It is annoying that even with the injuries, with good management we would be the best team in baseball. But overall we’re in a good place.
  11. I’ll concede the chemistry could be better. To be honest, Len Kasper is the main culprit IMO. He often has some interesting things to say but he’s weirdly bad at keeping a conversation flowing and lively, at least for a pro announcer in a major sports league. I notice this all the time in his radio broadcasts with DJ
  12. They’re going off topic so much bc it’s an 8-0 crush. Sorry you don’t like the good vibes. Oddball commentary is enjoyable in this type of relatively rare circumstance. Watch the Royals cast if it’s insufficient dour and low-energy for your tastes.
  13. We like to do it in big bunches every three or four games. The rest we like to play on challenge mode.
  14. Well if you love ground balls, you’re gonna love this game
