McCann literally tagged him with the glove before he touched home. They freeze-framed it on the broadcast. -

Fire Ricky right now. What does a manager even get paid to do? A challenge saves a run and changes the inning dramatically. It was an easy and obvious call, even live I saw the tag. So frustrating. -

Wow a successfully executed hit and run. Old school. Love to see it. SF despite Mazara turning back to look twice lol. Nice to see a small ball run. -

Well hit, damn it. Would have broken the game open but what can you do -
We scored 11 runs so if that’s regression I’ll take it

Dylan Cease is somehow 5-2 with a 3.18 ERA. In another era, people would look at those numbers and consider him for the All-Star Game. What’s the most a pitcher’s ERA has ever outperformed their FIP? Can’t complain about the results though!

White Sox v Royals - Cease vs Duffy - 9/3/20 GT

Flores’ fist pump on his second pitch was endearing. I feel bad for him bc Tim should have had that first hit. Hopefully he gets out of this with just two allowed -

Cease in the playoffs is a fairly terrifying thought. Like he’s better than Lopez and the lesser Gio, obviously, and I see shades of the early Q in his ability to work his way out of jams / calmness under fire. But he has gotten a bit too lucky and has a lot of development left if he’s going to be a legit rotation starter on a playoff team. But at least I’m cautiously optimistic about that happening -

Call upheld! I’ll take it, when you have an inexplicably poorly constructed lineup and awful SP, you’ll need every break you can get against the Twins -

I guess Renteria thought Cordero deserved formal blame for the loss, and so figured he had to leave him in until he was responsible for the go ahead run. Good thinking Ricky, gotta hold guys accountable -

Madrigal is just a hit machine. He seems like such a throwback player profile who’s able to stay ahead of the curb by integrating all of the advanced analytics regarding swing path, launch trajectory etc into his swing -

Scary inning, glad we got through it and the toughest part of the order. Does Donaldson come back tomorrow? -

Nice to see Robert taking a couple of balls to start that AB, lines a slider but right at somebody (too bad bc that was the 3rd run). His approach and pitch recognition seems to make rapid marginal improvements by the day, it’s unreal for a rookie lol -

That worked out really well, you love to see good strategy for once -
Silly on their part - they dug in their heels and I think they’ll come to regret it
-
Agree with this - Marte would have been nice and we could have beaten that package

So glad we had a guy with a 6 ERA in the guts of the game
