Stupid fielding. Should have thrown the ball straight home IMO. Oh well if we get this last out, I'll accept getting out of that awful opening with only one run allowed
Timely hitting! I had forgotten what that looked like. Well let's hope it's contagious. It's been nice to see Moncada start to regain his footing over the last few days.
Wow those were some bad ABs, thought I was watching the Sox in offense! In all seriousness thank god for a win, six losses on the home stand would be too demoralizing. Good job to Shields (eh), Rondon, Jones, Davidson, and the rest!
This is just pathetic. I understand and support the rebuild and I never expected the playoffs this year, and I know it's still extremely early so it's not like I'm giving up or anything, but wow this team is incredibly hard to watch this year. That inning pretty much summarizes it. This would be our second 1-0 loss to a totally awful team if the result holds. Embarrassing.
Control is obviously worrisome for Kopech but he has demonstrated command at times. I want him in the big leagues as soon as possible so he can be working with Coop on a day-to-day basis. Pitcher development is the one area in which this organization has demonstrated its consistently capabilities.
I think the general trend of "Cordell before Kopech" is right on the money though.
Melky is slow haha. But wow at that chart that showed Abreu with exactly 82 or 83 hits to each of left, right, and center field since 2016. What a great natural hitter.
Like everyone else, I really can't wait for Frazier to leave. What even was that?? But good stuff that inning especially from Davidson and Anderson. Hard to complain with that start. Let's go Holmberg
Garcia would be the Sox rep to the ASG... there could be real consideration for Swarzak/Kahnle as well. Abreu seems like more of a long-shot to me.
Speaking of Kahnle, that kid's changeup is in the 90's and just casually picked up a couple more strikeouts. One more inning.
Kahnle throwing heat and spitting fire. Strikes out the side as well after a walk to Castellanos where I thought he sorta got squeezed at the beginning (great AB by Castellanos though- our batters should be taking notes!)
Would love some insurance here but absent that, cross your fingers and cross your toes because Robertson is coming up in the 9th.
I'm starting to think Swarzak could be the real deal. Those three strikeouts were masterful. 2-out walk to VMart to load the bases was ugly though.
And wow, these have been some terrible at bats these last couple of innings. Are our guys just mentally folding now that we have a run??
