Hopefully whatever has been wrong with Kopech is fixed.
Seems like the pen throws a lot of zeros in low leverage situations in Sox losses. Would be good to see them do it in a win.
Sale cut up '77 unis. Yes, the shorts were from '76. They did not make the throwbacks shorts, though. They were remembering the Southside Hitmen of 1977. No one is going to commemorate that '76 team, one of the worst in Sox history.
Well, there's losing the game and destroying your bullpen for the rest of the week vs. losing the game and NOT destroying your bullpen for the rest of the week. I prefer the latter.
Oh sure. But with 80% of the rotation either hurt or underperforming I was feeling greedy. Sox pen has a lot of innings to cover in the next two weeks.
Emilio Vargas is throwing well again. Is he a possibility for a spot start? It worked when they tried something similar with Jose Quintana many years ago.
A slight stick on the ball increases spin rate, which can make a ball move. Generally, substances like Spider Tack seem to help high velocity 4-seamers more than 2-seam sinkerballs, though. So that may not be Keuchel’s problem.
