I agree. Even if it was Luis Gonzalez, with Leury primarily in cf, I say bring up Mendick and DFA Lamb. A third DH is a luxury at this point.

I don’t think Goodwin can play cf anymore. If he were replacing Eaton, I get it, but how’s he gonna find playing time? I guess they’re gonna throw him out there and give it a whirl.

Are we sure he’s an upgrade? Goodwin is known quantity for good or for bad. Gonzalez has a range of outcomes.

Ugh, in some ways this is worse than Eloy. At least with Eloy the prognosis is 100% recovery, no issues. I think the Sox pitching is good enough to still be a threat, but it's gonna be hard baseball to watch. Jose's gonna run out of pockets for the batting gloves.

The players to watch for me at W-S are Bryce Bush, Lenyn Sosa, and Yolbert Sanchez. Maybe Mieses will be a pleasant surprise? I've always liked Harvin Mendoza, but he seems hit over power and he's 1b only.

Any word yet on when Sox are releasing minor league rosters? Yankees did it yesterday, but Sox usually wait until the last possible moment.

Personally, I would never have given anything for Tauchman, but I wouldn’t give up much for a short term fix regardless. Engel can fill in for a month, and you’ll be fine. Check around the league, no one’s hitting.
