  1. Veras has a real good hit tool and emerging power, the question with him is swing decisions. He's still so young. If he can make the pitchers come to him with hittable pitches, he can be an mlb regular. If he doesn't reign it in, he'll struggle.
  2. I think it's a strip club in Lisle.
  3. Batista looked very good in his first start for Kanny. Do not like the process, but maybe this time it works out?
  4. "Attention White Sox fans: We have a very important announcement. There is no announcement."
  5. Montgomery seems so afraid of Colson Montgomery that they won't bring any righties into the game. Hence Rodriguez, Ramos and Veras are a combined 8-13 with 9 rbi.
  6. Barons middle of the order just wearing these guys out. 3 more in the inning including a nice ab from Quero.
  7. Ramos 2b. Dreaded triple short of the cycle.
  8. Nastrini done 5.2IP 4H 3R 3ER 2bb 1hbp 8K.
  9. Dammit. At least they'll get some at bats for promising prospect Trayce Thompson.
  10. Weird game for the Barons. Nastrini walks 2 in the inning and gives up a run on a double steal. He looks darn good.
  11. New look Baron line up is very solid. Montgomery in a mini-slump (ever since they started a thread in PHT), imagine when he gets it going again what this group is gonna look like.
  12. Veras just hit a moonshot.
  13. Cannon didn't start for Birmingham. It's Nastrini. He's given up 2 runs so far in the first.
  14. Batista looks pretty good. He's touched 96, shows 3 pitches and has a late-breaking slider as a put away pitch. You can see why he led the ACL in Ks. Through 3 he's given up 1 very cheap run 1H 0bb 4K. Not a particularly physical guy, smallish and skinny, but he has the mix to start, I think.
  15. I believe that. Motherf***ers act like they forgot about Ramos.
  16. I mean, Grandal is hurt and we now know the Sox are not adding a catcher behind Perez.
  17. Yeah, the Sox pitching hasn't been great even before they traded half the staff, but if they get rid of the pitching coaches, they should fire the hitting coaches into the sun.
  18. Early start for Charlotte, both Lee and Hackenberg are in the line up. That means Sox are playing tonight's game with 1 healthy catcher. This team loves playing shorthanded. Maybe it helps build culture.
  19. I think Sox hitters are pretty bad and on evenings there's a big strike zone, they are even worse.
  20. I have watched a fair amount of the Barons. From my looks, I got Ramos > Quero. I like Quero, he looks like a for sure catcher, which is valuable, but Ramos is good at 3b and his impact is way more than Quero offensively. He consistently hits the ball hard. Not that it matters much. There's a top 2, then the Sox have a ton of players in a similar tier and where you decide to rank guys in that tier involves a lot of coin flips. So far, not a fan of Gonzalez. Sox are in the process of changing his swing, which, if you're going to do that, why pick an offense first player at 15? Right now, he is trying to inside out EVERYTHING. With that approach, it's almost impossible for him to hit anything hard. In college, he used to turn and burn on anything inner half. That made him vulnerable away, but at least there was a chance for impact. Hopefully, this is a transitional state and once his mechanics get comfortable, he'll pull more pitches.
  21. Wolkow has played cf. He's faster than he looks.
  22. Ump wanted to go home on that last strike call.
  23. With all the 27 year old+ castoffs on this team and at AAA, the Sox are beginning to feel like Luis Robert Jr on an expansion team.
