C'mon Hawk. Rasmus was nowhere even close to catching that and I could see it on the TV. You're AT THE PARK....
-
Maybe Dunn will retire mid-season if this continues.
-
Wouldn't shock me to see Johnson get a look in September. I'd rather see him now instead of Floyd to be honest haha

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 04:25 PM) He is so much better of a hitter when he is thinking through the box and right center. Yeah. He was doing it all Spring too and looked fantastic, then the bell rung, the weather got cold and he became pull happy. So weird.

Tank going oppo is a beautiful sight. He's gotta keep that approach in mind.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 17, 2013 -> 12:59 PM) They had a team ERA of 1.83 coming in to today. They lost their game, and their team ERA went DOWN to 1.77. They have given up 25 earned runs (27 total runs) in 14 games. The next lowest ERA in the bigs is 2.64. So what you're trying to say is FIRE GREG WALKER! ??

The Braves are 12-2 with BJ Upton, Uggla, and Heyward all hitting below .200.... what? I never really looked before, but I expected everyone to be mashing in that line-up to run off the streak they had

I love my Sox, but Christ do I have no desire to watch the game today. Two major strikes going against it: The way the offesnse has played. Dylan Axlerod making yet another start for a Major League Baseball Franchise. Two strikes and you're out. I see a lot of you agree since there is still no game thread haha.

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 06:59 PM) Just look at the home/road splits. 2.41 vs 5.44 Although that road one probably isn't updated so I'm sure it's closer to 6 now.
-
QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 06:58 PM) 175 wins. Hopefully he gets 25 more to cap off a fine career. Might take him the rest of his contract to get that many wins. Partly because he's not that good, and partly because neither are the Jays.
-
Obviously the sample size would be minuscule, but I wonder what the Sox ERA is in these games that Cooper hasn't been on the bench and the games to start the season.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 06:54 PM) Sox need him to pitch someone decent so they can trade him if they fall out of contention. Hahn should start selling him as a "Change of Scenery" candidate right now. Maybe they can trade him in a few weeks or days, or now.
-
Buehrle in no way dominated the Sox, so I hope no one comes to this thread trying to say otherwise. It was a mediocre start against a god awful team. Mark tried to help, but The Sox beat themselves as they've done most of the season.
-
Can the Sox DL Floyd for "tightness" or some other mystery ailment?
-
f*** it. Lose 100 games. If you're gonna suck go for it at least! I don't want this team finally coming around in August to finish at .500

Battle of the Twitching set-ups

Can Robin resign in the post-game conference?
-
Hey Ump, The Sox don't need any more help striking out.
-
Tyler Greene homer? haha
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 06:34 PM) I think we all believe that And it will make the hiring look even WORSE than it already did at the start. Hopefully McEwing will still be with the organization and he'll get a chance. Since they're gonna promote from within more than likely (the dream of Dave Martinez won't happen...) Or Craig Grebek will get the call...whatever.
-
If Robin continues to sleepwalk through this season and the Sox lose 90, I bet he resigns in the off-season.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 06:26 PM) Happened to the Braves and Red Sox last year. Well the Red Sox did have a different manager (who only made the situation worse) and those Braves won 94 games and made the Wild Card. This is a totally unique situation.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 06:19 PM) They absolutely choked down the stretch and it's completely carried over into this season. It's like last year never ended. It's inconceivable that that could even happen. It's a completely different context, situation, and in a few cases, players. That shouldn't happen and if it continues would be a fireable offense (if this was ANY OTHER organization besides the Chicago White Sox)
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 06:12 PM) What more can he really do though right now? Truth of the matter is that the team sucks right now in almost every aspect. Doing nothing is just frustrating. Like he doesn't care. The hell happened to the team with great fundamentals and slick defense that came out last season?
-
Good managers aren't afraid to make massive changes in the line-up if things aren't working. Obviously the personel isn't conducive to playing much better than this, but s*** Robin can't trot out the same line-up over and over and just hope for the best. You gotta try something
