you guys falling for this post!

He batted .229 with 3 hr and 13 RBI last April... and not much better in May. He has left a lot of easy RBI out there. He needs to do his job.. right now he isn't contributing on offense and is a liability on defense.

Avi just destroyed that ball... opposite field on a line...
-
Avi murded that ball.... He is on fire atm Abreu looking like he did for most of the first two months last year...

I'm not sure I can remember seeing more guys in a line-up that weren't major league material, past, present or future.

Chicago White Sox @ Cleveland Indians 4/12/2017

I really don't understand the trying to steal with 1 out and man on 3rd... I liked the safety squeeze.. the other part was really head scratching strategy to me. -
I'm all for tanking/rebuild But as I'm watching the games.. where is the young talent getting experience.....?

If we can't get anything worthwhile for Roberston.. we should wait and see if he can be successful and catch a larger bounty. I really don't agree with the lets take whatever we can get for him now idea - i think you have more to lose doing it that way.

Your response to Sale getting traded to the Red Sox

I think its perfect timing.. Chris is relatively young but I feel like he might be on the decline. -
Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+
harkness99 replied to Southwest Sider's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I really like this trade. Chris is a warrior but I feel like he has some issues.... including that most teams in our division seem to light him up the last couple years. -

Wow Joe Maddon... I'm starting to believe in the curse of the Bambino... like some spirit of pure idiocy entered Maddon's body the last two games.

It's funny that so many people were so surprised. As the often hated but underrated Hawk explained to us many times.. (and we saw) Connor can turn around a fastball as well as anyone.

Vomit-inducing: LaRoches will throw out first pitch

I'd like to get vomit on his beard. -
Can't say this hire excites me... I think they needed a totally new voice. But I hope it works out....

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 28, 2016 -> 01:39 PM) Joe Maddon could be managing this squad and they would have finished in 4th place. Some people want the Sox to hire Dave Martinez. If Dave Martinez was managing the 2016 White Sox and Robin Ventura was sitting next to Joe Maddon, how different would their records be than they are now? I just think since his contract is up it would be a time to try something new. I do like the fact they aren't pinning the losing on him. That should be refreshing. The fact is, if the players don't change, whoever manages this team will eventually be an idiot. I really don't agree with your opening statement. Anyone who has ever been around or is a strong leader knows how big a difference it can make. I'm not blaming Robin for everything by a long shot... but bringing him back makes zero sense and is just incompetence.

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Sep 23, 2016 -> 08:53 PM) I know most won't agree, but in my opinion it's actually selfish to go balls out against a wall like that. It's one out in a meaningless game. This might be the strangest and most back-asswards logic I've ever seen.

The problem is simple: it's home runs and .OPS
harkness99 replied to Greg Hibbard's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm not saying hitting more homeruns isn't helpful... I'm saying it's the wrong thing to focus on. Bull pen bull pen bull pen and on base percentage. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 07:08 PM) 23rd in runs 2nd in home runs. The HR argument is not bulls***. You don't play home games in ah home run paradise and not have a home run happy team. It makes zero sense. Chasing home run hitting free agents has been failing. We need better on base percentage and a better bullpen. Worrying about home run hitters isn't working. -

QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 03:53 PM) Ok, I'll look at the Giants and Royals....if you take a look at this link. http://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/parkfactor/_/sort/HRFactor You are telling me they play in harder ball parks to hit homeruns... not sure what your point is. Those teams won because of their pithing and defense and other factors. If you are saying the Sox need to get home run hitters because they play in a home run hitting park - again I say that's what they have been trying to do and its failing. So really what you are advocating is for them to do the same thing they been failing at. What southside posted showed pretty clearly that HR's isn't the reason the Sox aren't scoring as much.
