  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 8, 2016 -> 06:44 PM) So a guy goes three years without being able to see his son on a regular basis and all the sudden people know that it shouldn't impact his performance because he was able to get through it in 2014/2015 I don't know about any of you, but the longer I went without being able to see my kids the worse I would get. It is crazy that any of you think it shouldn't matter, because it does. It matters... if it effects his performance on the field or not isn't something we really know or can measure. It could have an effect for sure.. but we really don't know that.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 08:43 PM) Those two strikeouts were very very bad. Put the ball in play. Anderson swung at a horrible pitch. It's just so strange... year after year.. no matter the batter. They get up there and are just mega anxious. It may not be fair.. but I've seen different players come and go and all have the same issue. I think the coaching staff's ability to get the players in the right frame of mind in these situations is clearly not working.
  3. well... the sox might have got screwed out of a run... But again in scoring situations this team locks up. A signature of the Ventura era.
  4. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 08:27 PM) Bases loaded lets score a bunch. ..........
  5. Jacob Turner in.. so Ventura has decided this is not a winnable game.. Can't really blame him though.. he has no one to put in there.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 07:57 PM) Base hit. DO NOT BUNT. After hitting into about what seems like 20 double plays the last few games... a bunt might be in order.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 07:53 PM) It's amazing how the umps refuse to call a belt high fastball a strike. They won't do it though. It's considered high. He has not been equal to both pitchers... but for whatever reason it seems like Rodon gets squeezed a lot.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 07:54 PM) Well, I predicted an automatic loss so I obviously stand by that. fair enough
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 07:43 PM) I'm not extremely confident we gonna win this game. Man on first none out. This was sarcasm right? We can't score and our starting pitcher has been shaky all year... then there is the bullpen.
  10. Lead off walks are not that scary against our offensive juggernaut.
  11. frazier with the worst situational at bats.. but then again I've seen this for the past 3 years out of a lot of random players. This clubhouse just oozes confidence into its players.
  12. The Twins are probably going to catch us.
  13. Like many of my favorite sports teams over the year that have been god awful... I WISH I could not care... but it's not possible. There was about 5 years there where when the Sox started sucking I could tune them out and not even pay attention anymore. But I can't these days... which makes things pretty painful...
  14. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 05:33 PM) Regardless of everything that transpired "mired in mediocrity" was a misstep. Mired in mediocrity was a misstep.. because it's not even true. I'll admit I didn't do a detailed research.. but from brief calculations looks to me like are avg ranking of the past 3 seasons is about 20/30 teams. That's not even mediocre...
  15. If no one would give up anything good.. then you don't do it. I'm not surprised at all. First step after this season is to get rid of Ventura.
  16. Not really that surprised.. they pieces they had were probably two pricy for teams to pay. And if they wouldn't pay then that's the way it goes.
  17. I'm actually not really big anymore on chasing the power hitters with high strike out rates... This hasn't worked. I'd be looking for speed with discipline who can get on base and a good staff with a lockdown bullpen (I guess the KC model). If this kid can play Defense, get on base and not be an easy out he might bring more to the table then a lot of our current guys. I'm tired of these guys that contribute nothing consistently on offense. ... we have had one of the or the worse offenses the past few years. The way we are trying to build our offense right now isn't working.
  18. Honestly.. not really. They have tried to compete the last two years and it has failed. Manager needs to go with 75% of the roster. It's time to reboot.
  19. kid has a good glove... but I've seen enough of him now. He just doesn't have the bat. I'd really like to see another young prospect to play... though we may not have one at the moment. But I'm expecting more trades.
  20. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 09:37 PM) We have our closer and rest of the team we need for 2017 bro....
