  1. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Jun 25, 2016 -> 02:09 PM) With our lineup Anderson is the only speed threat he has been killing the ball since he came up. The only hitters better than him has been Melky and possibly Eaton. Eaton is not a leadoff hitter and he admits it, he is a great 2 hole hitter. Our lineup and offense has been wayyyyy better with Anderson at the one. He also has scored a ton. Right now he is swinging at strikes early in the count and ripping the ball all over the field. That's what you need from a rookie leadoff guy. Once he makes that adjustment to big league pitching then he will be more patient at the plate. Our offense needs a spark at the top and it's not Eaton, it's Anderson. Just bc he is not walking doesn't mean he is not a leadoff hitter. Would you rather the sox go back to scoring 1 run a game like they did before Anderson was in the leadoff spot. That has been an entire two weeks... over the long hall of a season Anderson's metrics don't account to being an ideal lead of hitter. He strikes out a lot and doesn't walk (and no walking doesn't matter all the time but OBP does... Todd Frazier has a higher OBP atm then Anderson). Just being fast doesn't make you a leader off hitter. I like Eaton batting 2nd (although how he isn't a good lead off hitter I really have no clue... he battles the pitcher a lot/draws walks/sees a lot of pitches).. but Anderson batting 1st isn't going to last. He has some potential but his offensive style doesn't fit well for a lead off.
  2. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Jun 25, 2016 -> 01:55 PM) Anderson is 100% a leadoff hitter and should only be batting leadoff You'll have to explain more.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 25, 2016 -> 01:54 PM) He's got to find a way to make more contact behind in the count. He seems defeated once they get that first strike on him. If he's going to have an OBP around .270, he shouldn't be leading off Yeah... kid has some potential.. but no more leading off.
  4. It was exciting for awhile... but Anderson is not a lead off hitter. He should be batting 9th.
  5. Not a good day or ball park for a knuckle ball/fly ball pitcher.
  6. That 0-2 pitch that Gonzalez threw to Sanders was a thing of ugly....
  7. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 25, 2016 -> 10:45 AM) Wow, you know your offense is in trouble when you're starting both catchers. We really need to get another bat ASAP. Avila has looked good lately though... but we haven't had enough bats for.... about 4-5 years now.
  8. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 11:17 PM) Ventura won this game I thought he did have a good game... he argued and got them to call a foul ball on the strike out. Ventura's in game decisions are not why I have doubts about him.... he does some things I disagree with but he basically follows the blueprint most managers do. Where I question him in his ability to get his guys in the right mind frame. Robin has always struck me as intelligent - but even when he played I never thought of him as a leader.
  9. Robertson19-21 in saves.... He has had some bad moments this year... but that's a good percentage.
  10. Trademark of the Ventura era... Maybe its not his fault.. but boy they never look confident up there in those situations.
  11. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 04:18 PM) RV: Abreu is not in today's starting lineup due to leg soreness from being hit, but is available if needed. Ugggh.... don't like this timing. He is finally hot.. he needs to batting. DH him.
  12. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 05:04 PM) Stings but 3/4 is still good. It's not that 3/4 isn't good.. is how we lost this last game. It's not really the loss it's how it was loss.
  13. Sorry but the terrible situational hitting over the past few years is at least somewhat on the coaching staff. Whatever they tell them isn't working... if they are even saying anything.
  14. Quintana is his own worse enemy half the time... He nibbled and walks and walks. As soon as he gets runs he give them right back. He is the guy that they should trade. He is good enough to get something.
  15. QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 09:04 PM) Why should we fire Robin? Did Robin make Putnam walk the bases loaded? Did he make Robertson incapable of completing an inning yesterday? Said he make Shields historically s***ty? Robin isn't perfect, but he is not the reason this team sucks. Because he has done nothing to lose... and he has been here 4 years. No one thinks it all on him at all.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 08:58 PM) I actually feel sorry for Robin more than despise him. He has to watch this crap every night. He is making a ton of money as well to watch one of the most dysfunctional teams in modern Sox history. Find a way to lose, this team will lose. Robin is part of the suck... he is the Shepard of these cowpies.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 08:41 PM) Avila has struggled all year hitting anything slow. He had no chance tonight, absolutely ridiculous that he got to bat there. I think not firing Ventura is because it makes them look wrong for hiring him ... and/or removes their fall g
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 08:20 PM) Yeah Jason Coats is a huge threat too. Dick is correct... Coats bunting made sense.
  19. Nearly every batter that gets up there with a runner on 3rd and less than an out just swings at everything and gets themselves out. It's like none of the players or coaches have a F****** brain.
  20. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 06:22 PM) 3 terrible defensive plays and still don't score. White Sox baseball. This to me is Robin Ventura and the coaching staff. Year after year.. different players and they all look like they are pressing up there. I think "Just grind it out" isn't working.
