  1. All these people going on and on about "Home grown" talent... That's not really it. The reason the White Sox have been bad is their failure/bad luck in there free agent signings. It's a combo of many different things. A manager who never wanted to be a manger... going after home run hitters that can't make contact... Bad offense... bad offense... bad bull pen... bad offense... bad bull pen.
  2. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 03:28 PM) I don't see it. Robin made the right moves. Players didni perform Every big division series they lose... can't fire all the players.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 02:33 PM) Team continues to press with RISP. Melky got himself out there. A trademark under Ventura.. I'm sorry but it is. Different players... different years. He doesn't have the magic jelly beans for their heads that's for sure.
  4. QUOTE (ronkark @ Jun 18, 2016 -> 08:27 PM) Ventura announcing Shields will start again "He's gonna figure it out." What an inspiring manager. On Frazier's struggles. "He's gotta grind it out." On the team's struggles: "We just gotta get out there." Another Vince Lombardi, am I right, folks? Wow just wooww... There is no reason for Shields to start again.. not only is he getting hammered he is destroying our bullpen. For F**** sake are these guys kidding? The incompetence is getting monumental.
  5. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 18, 2016 -> 09:59 PM) What is he supposed to say? How can he make veterans like Frazier hit better or pitcher's like Shields do better? What want to know is if we were sold damaged goods with Shields? Ventura puts me too sleep when he talks... and his team has played for 4 years like they are asleep. It's not all on him though by any means. It's a bunch of clueless individuals from the very top to the bottom.
  6. Shields isn't a MLB pitcher right now... or probably anymore. Can not send him out there anymore -it's unfair to everyone on the team.
  7. There is NO reason this guy should pitch another game. He is a travesty out there. Stop sending him out there.
  8. Abreu struck out on fast ball down the middle. Frazier and Avila grounded out on a hanging curve balls. Poor Quintana...
  9. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 11:36 PM) What would baby Jesus have been born in if not for the mangers? Probably a cowpie. "Away in a cowpie, just s*** for a bed, the little Lord Jesus just shat where he stood." I don't get it... a turd shat a turd? I laughed though so thanks for that.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 07:03 PM) Not impossible, but direct experience should be more heavily weighted and valued than random rants on a message board. I could agree with that... but "I can tell you guys have never managed before or played baseball" Not sure that would qualify.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 04:11 PM) I don't think it is wrong to point out the experience level difference. Just because you traded a stock or watched CNBC, it doesn't mean you know investing as well as Warren Buffet. Baseball isn't any different. And from a practical standpoint, the management staff is going to be privy to information that none of us have, and probably will never know. I mean even if we are just talking about understanding the personalities of his players, how would we know that stuff? Like it or not, there is an advantage from having done something for decades on an intimate and personal level that people outside of the game will never have. Of course people with "inside information" have a scope others don't. But if every time people are going to disagree.. someone is going to play the "you haven't done it before card," then pretty much that eliminates most opinions as invalid in most walks of life. It's like... impossible to have direct experience of everything we have opinions on.
  12. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 02:53 PM) Why must you post so condescendingly with mostly every post that you make? I am curious. Do you have responses like this to people you talk to in your everyday life? What's funny is how you don't like my post as being "condescending" but yet the post I responded to was condescending people for having an opinion about managers... someone telling us we can't have an opinion about something because we haven't done it before... is condescending. I think it would be quite common to feel that way.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 03:09 AM) of the game-winning manager, breath of fresh air listening to him for a change http://m.mlb.com/video/v811772783/detcws-r...?game_pk=447820 Eh he said a lot of things that made me lol. Nothing to see there really.
  14. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 01:21 PM) The guys arguing that we wouldn't have won without Rentaria are the guys who have never played, nor managed a baseball game. Oh right because you have to "have played" or "managed" a game to have an opinion. You better not complain if your mechanic charges you for some questionable things... hey dude you have never been a mechanic... Or better not complain if your governor messes something up... I mean you have never been the governor? All these people voting for president.. You can just tell they have never been president before. C'mon with that silly silly siiiiiiiiiiiily logic.
  15. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 14, 2016 -> 03:40 AM) I hate to be this guy, but have you ever seen an 87 MPH slider come at you from the left side? Do you know how much time you have to decipher that pitch? Do you know why the best hitter only hits .330 or so every year? Baseball is not easy. s***ty games happen, and bad matchups happen, and the Sox really don't match up well with the Royals right now, especially with Jackson out for an extended period of time. But I'm sure you wish you could have been above that dugout. I'm guessing that if Avisail Garcia were watching every little thing you did while you were working and he say you screw up, the first thing he'd do was yell "BOOO!" Oh boy... the old "if you can't do it you can criticize argument" Yeah I better not vote for president or pretty much have an opinion about most anything in life. Have you really ever thought that line of reasoning out? I didn't say in the dugout either buddy, nor do I think hitting is easy - it's probably on of the toughest things athletically to do is hit a major league pitcher. However, the white sox performance batting that day was one of the top 5 worse I've seen all year - I watch a lot of baseball (MLB package) but the problem is they have been having these problems for years. It wasn't just "a bad day" or "bad match up." It's been going on for awhile.
  16. Robertson just comes across as panicky to me...
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:02 PM) 3 divisional teams are just better than the Sox. Recipe for a lot of losses. Any team is better than the sox.. .besides Atlanta.. Recipe for a lot of losses
  18. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:59 PM) Yes I don't believe you really think that... sorry.
  19. Coats looks horrible... fits right in with the rest of the squad.
  20. Erik Johnson looks like Cy young compared to this fraud.
