QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:23 AM) Until yesterday, Lawrie had been hitting the ball pretty hard lately. Lawrie has pop when he makes contact.. he just has poor pitch recognition. He swings at balls and takes strikes.
-
QUOTE (SpankyEaton @ Jun 12, 2016 -> 09:49 PM) I've noticed that Lawrie is always in an 0-2 count...pitchers must know to get ahead of him and he'll be an automatic out. This guys mental approach to hitting is bad... if he could just learn to lay of 25% more bad pitches he would find a lot more success.

QUOTE (thedoctor @ Jun 12, 2016 -> 08:51 PM) everyone's trying too hard. they're making a slump a death spiral. This is where I see the manager failing.

Today was especially horrible. The KC pitchers will throw 1 strike in 10 pitches and the inning will be over. I'm sorry but how people/players coaching staff couldn't be angry in that dugout at what our hitters are doing after the past couple days is beyond me. I wish I could have been above that dugout today. Unbelievable.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 02:34 PM) Sale is a fiery guy who doesn't want to come out of the game.there is no story there okay I guess we all will just assume that's what it was.... though Robin has taken him out 100 times before and I've never seen Sale bark at him. But I guess you guys are really sure so nothing to see here.
-
He was barking at Ventura about something... yeah Sale being angry isn't new... but him barking at Ventura is new. I wondered if anyone heard or saw what the issue was.
-
I didn't see anyone talking about it on here... was watching the KC broadcast when it happened. Sale was barking at Ventura pretty hard when he took him out of the game. I had never seen him do that before.
-
Seriously seems to me like these guys think if they don't win this year their done.

The talk of "public humiliation" .... I'm not even sure what you guys are talking about? Are you talking about roasting someone in the media? Have you guys ever been to a major division 1 practice or professional practice (I've been to both)? Have you ever watched "Hard Knocks?" People get called out in front of people constantly... every day, every hour. I've heard things a coach has said to a college kid that the kid's mother might have shot the coach (and this is front of people watching). This coach was tremendously successful btw. I'm not saying this is the best way, nor am I saying it has anything to do with Ventura. Because I think our players play like they are too stressed out - not that Ventura doesn't yell at them or whatever. I don't even know what he does. But this entire talk of "Public Humilation" I'm not really sure what you guys are talking about. Sometimes being called out is THE ONLY WAY that some people will wake the F*** up. Playing sports my entire life I knew ALOT of guys that fit that bill. Some people it doesn't work - they go into a shell. But maybe I'm confused by what you guys meant...

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 02:02 PM) the last half of 2013 and all of 2014, the Sox were rebuilding and there was a ton of complaining around here. Everyone still holds the record during that time against the manager. I don't think many who are calling for a rebuild truly understand what a rebuild entails. I don't think many people hold 2013-2014 against Ventura.... 2012, 2015, 2016 are a different story.

This is some of the worst baseball I've seen in a long long time. No one in that dugout or team has ANY clue how what to do.
-
QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 10:26 PM) Who was the manager when the team had a record of 23-10? Was he not getting the best out of them at that point? This post... lol Yeah OUR bad Robin has a long history of winning... how short sighted of us.

Nationals (Scherzer) @ Sox (Shields)

This team is a mental pile and the coaching staff obviously has no clue how to fix it. -

I don't really know who's fault it completely is... but whatever they touch seems to turn to dog S*** -
I'm starting to think these guys are really trying to be competitive to save their jobs... we are doing nothing but losing but they are trying to add add add.

It's where we have been for about 4-5 years....

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 11:03 PM) It's so nice to have this Stoney as the Sox color announcer. He is so 'scared' of Hawk's moods. To get this comfy Stone is awesome and refreshing. I love Stone and this new play by play guy! Hawk is great, but Hawk should be ashamed of himself for being crabby so many nights. So you enjoy Stone and Jason's "Great Comedy" and banter when the white sox have lost 19 of 25? and are getting their S*** pounded yet again. It annoys me... even though I can't blame them for trying I guess I will get to the point where I don't care anymore and maybe the will be start sounding funny. This is exactly why I like Hawk he would be pissed like me.

Why are we still sending Matt Albers out there?

QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 10:59 PM) Because his name rhymes with Cat? must be it -
Is this some kind of sick joke? I feel bad for the guy... it's almost criminal.
-
They are really making me laugh... This team has a bunch of horrible pitchers... a manager that can't win... an offense that usually runs at putrid. But lets keep adding people! Wow
-
Don't worry guys doing the same thing over and over... will eventually work.
-
We do seem to be the cure for what ails... but when it comes to the central division we have been that cure for about 5 years now.

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 06:32 PM) What is with your f***ing boner for Jim Leyland. Stop it already. He's not coming back and he wouldn't even make my top 5 list anyway. Isn't Leyland 95 years old? Wow he is only 71....

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 09:21 AM) Exactly. Plus a huge part of managing is something we never ever see. It is what goes on when the game isn't happening. This is where I feel Robin doesn't have the ability. His strategic decisions... meh.. some are bad but I don't think it means all that much. What I see are players that in key situations... clench up. I'd like to think that the ability to get players to relax and perform is where managers they make their impact. Here are my ideas! Play little side games... keep track of the team "Leaders" at getting the runner in from 3rd. Give fun little awards like a case of your favorite beer... Maybe if you win that week you get to pick a players intro music for a game on the homestand. Get to play a nice golf course. Someone has to bring you some Dairy Queen if you win... Do they do s*** like that? I don't know but these guys just look so tense all the time.
