  1. QUOTE (Vance Law @ May 28, 2016 -> 08:54 PM) Manager doesn't matter. You can get to and maybe win a World Series with Ned Yost or Terry Collins, or Ozzie f***ing Guillen. I'd say out of the major pro sports... yeah they have the least impact. But "it doesn't matter"..... I think that's a bit unrealistic.
  2. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ May 28, 2016 -> 06:09 PM) Come on. I'm being patient for a 4-13 stretch. It just feels like the success this team had early was a mirage... I hope you are right Mr. Hibbard. But I have this dreadful, very realistic feeling that I am right about this team and managers future. I'd be very greatful to eat crow.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 28, 2016 -> 06:21 PM) The point is still the same, until guys start doing their job out of the bullpen, it doesn't matter. Robertson blew it for sure. But we have gotten new players the past few years and tried to win... but the same things keep happening. It's only logical to try different coaches. At some point when your manager has the worse winning % it team history... you just might want to conclude the manager isn't very good.
  4. They have done what they have always done under Ventura... when its time to get key wins against divisional foes - they turtle up. It's been that way for 4 years. Yeah the current state of affairs as it the white sox are still in it... But it sure feels the same as the past 4 years. I wish it was different this year - but it really doesn't feel different.
  5. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ May 28, 2016 -> 05:13 PM) Why yes, I have. I'm still not completely panicking. This team needs to make some moves. As unsustainable as 23-10 was, 4-13 is also unsustainable. Your a patient man... 4 years is a bit too long for me.
  6. It's also at the point where giving another manager a shot couldn't hurt... we have to try something. This leadership hasn't worked going on 4 years.
  7. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 28, 2016 -> 04:57 PM) He's definitely not at fault today. He managed some things poorly yesterday but millionaire athletes need to do their jobs properly. Fire him. Don't fire him. People greatly overrate the impact of a manager. How could you "definitely" say he was not at fault? Every move he made with the pitchers failed... you thought bringing in a guy with zero experience when the titanic was sinking was a good move? "definitely"? He was completely a part of the problem..
  8. Wish I could just stop watching... at some point I really need to. I used to get bored and stop watching when they lost in the early 2000's... wish I could get back to that.
  9. okay tied for first... your kind of missing the point of my post. That the people who kept saying that were missing the slowing dropping nuclear bomb that was headed their way.
  10. This has to be cleansed... we tried cleansing some players it hasn't worked.
  11. He brings this guy in who has not been in a pressure situation ... forever. Robin is just utter fail top to bottom.
  12. Only thing that can make me feel better after the last two games is if he gets fired. Enough is enough. It won't happen though.
  13. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ May 28, 2016 -> 03:53 PM) Actually it was. I had not yet even seen the score. Have you seen the score lately?
  14. didn't blame robin for putting him in... but how long he left him in... Robin has to go.... he has to.
  15. Saladino should be playing more over rollins... more more range and a more pop in his bat...
  16. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ May 28, 2016 -> 02:04 PM) Hey guys Maybe check out August 2005 for how bad of a 16 game stretch a World Series winner could have It's as if some of you have never watched baseball before. We are not even out of first yet, during a brutal stretch of our schedule. JFC guys So weird that you would post this when we were winning... surely just a coincidence.
  17. On the replay from both angles it was pretty much right across his waste. It was definitely way too close a pitch to take with 2 strikes. It was also a hanger which he should be able to destroy... but he isn't too good at recognizing breaking balls...
  18. Lawrie has a live bat... but man he can't recognize a breaking ball for S***
  19. Rodon and Coop's pitch selection there on 0-2 was some pure head scratching material...
  20. Jose 0-6 in the series. I mean it was nice when he slapped a few hits to right field in a couple games... But he is still broke... no power right now.
