  1. QUOTE (oldsox @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 09:46 PM) If Sox need a low priced manager next year, try Skinner from Charlotte. He's paid his dues. I've never seen a team so mentally unprepared. Its a joke.
  2. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 09:48 PM) That's it, golden opportunity and nothing to show for it just like earlier in the year. You mean like all year... I've seen similar trickling down the leg type play all season.
  3. To me sorry that at least partially on the coaching staff... our guys look scared to death up there in those situations. Jose could be really good... but man he has some horrible at bats. Gets his head stuck real far up is ***
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 01:06 PM) Maybe the best post of the entire year Nm I guess its Stone who is out...
  5. QUOTE (LDF @ Aug 6, 2015 -> 11:38 PM) Really.... i thought about the avg.... but the power??? well that may put everything in a different light. thanks. Going by his minor league stats... he had one year where he hit 16 homers.. his batting avg has ranged from .245- .310
  6. QUOTE (LDF @ Aug 6, 2015 -> 11:01 PM) can you envision him hitting something like 15 hrs and a avg of 270?? That seems about right.
  7. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Aug 6, 2015 -> 07:04 PM) I agree but I would not switch this season. Sanchez's average is trending up and Saladino's is trending down. With each of them playing regularly, the Sox should get an idea of how their offense looks by Sept. I think each will settle around .240 hitters but Sanchez will be the better fielder and Saladino will have a little more speed and pop. Agree both cannot play regularly next year based on their offense so far. not sure how you could conclude that saladino isn't good enough of offense.. he doesn't have many PA's. I see a lot of potential in his bat... he has a good eye and a good swing with some pop. He has hit over .300 in the minors a few times.
  8. I like what I've seen from Saladino...he swings at strikes, is selective has a good swing. I'm hoping he is the answer at 3b... but that's a big need. Also if Avi can't be the guy we need another outfielder. Then there is LaRoche.. The thing is I don't think the Sox are that far away.
  9. Flowers isn't the biggest issue by any means but I think it's time to look for something else at that position.
  10. Definitely not rebuild time... we are better this year but still need a few pieces and a different coaching staff.
  11. QUOTE (Yoda @ Aug 4, 2015 -> 10:00 AM) McEwing should lose his job for that play. A team that is vying for a Wild Card spot means there is little to no room for fundamental hiccups like the one made last night. 1st and 3rd no outs… McEwing won't lose his job, unless maybe they tried to make him a fall guy for the failings of this staff - which from their mantra all year it doesn't appear they would do. KW and Ventura need to go... Hahn is still a question mark to me.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 4, 2015 -> 09:54 AM) At the very least it is the worse thread titling... Could have fixed it for me? or just too much temptation for a passive aggressive internet moment. My bad!
  13. QUOTE (coco1997 @ Aug 3, 2015 -> 11:08 PM) I think the most painful loss of the season was when Robertson gave up that walk off homer to Josh Donaldson back in May. Tonight's loss was a combination of bad defense, poor relief pitching and stupid coaching. That was a pretty bad one... our bull pen signings have not been so rock solid.
  14. I don't hate Joe McEwing... but what else is really going to say? There were other tactical mistakes made during the game that no one will own up to.
  15. I think we see clearly tonight that it can... in many different fashions.
  16. That was one of the many reasons it was such a horrible call. You don't gamble with zero outs... and you don't gamble on their best throwing center fielder... not to mention Alexei slowed up because he figured he was stopping. Just an unbelievable f*** up there.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 3, 2015 -> 10:29 PM) Last Thursday was worse. All the momentum in the world came crashing down with Sale on the mound That one was bad too but we got smoked in that one... this one we fought back and should have been able to close it out against a bad offensive team. But instead but players and coaches trickled it down their legs.
  18. well not much else Robin can say... everyone on the planet earth knows how idiotic it was.
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 3, 2015 -> 10:23 PM) I hate the whole coaching staff. Get rid of these pieces of s***. This is such a blinding reality.
  20. I can't think of many that were as bad... This team does not have the leadership or confidence to know how to win... its clear over and over. When ever they really need a win... its a choke job from the coaching staff to players. Until they flip the staff and maybe even the front office this will never change.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 3, 2015 -> 10:10 PM) He closed in NY. He has it between the ears. He's just not been sharp with all his pitches at the same time, unfortunately. If he was truly that great they wouldn't have let him go.. they are the Yankees they can afford it and stuff
  22. not really... he has more blown saves than any other closer in the American league. Robertson has good stuff... but he doesn't have it between the ears.
  23. Duke is up there with LaRoche,,, as far as bad signings... The dude has like one good year as a reliever...
  24. Sanchez appears to have more pop then Avi and the roach
  25. I think adam Laroche needs Jobu... I'm sure he will reveal this at "faith" night.
