  1. If Soto isn't catching more he needs to be DHing more.
  2. left so many chances to blow this game open.
  3. alexei has been horrid of late with a runner on 3rd and less than 2... It's amazing that a guy with such poor stats, who can't hit major league fastballs get so many starts at catcher. I'm not saying never play... but everyday catcher. It's just wow.
  4. dank be stank tonight... hope he can hold it together with some duct tape.. getting hit hard.
  5. I agree with Dick... This series with Boston will determine a lot... I'm thinking the coaching staff might even use this as a motivation (if the players care about being together) If this team wants to stay together it has to keep winning. If they lose the first two in Boston the sale begins.
  6. LaRoche needs to hit the bench... throwing him out there right now is a mistake. He is just downward spiraling. He needs a week off at least.
  7. The manager and half the roster needs to go tomorrow. Probably the GM also. To think I actually thought this team was going to be good.
  8. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 22, 2015 -> 10:01 PM) it just shows everyone that comes he sucks. Its the organization/coaches. This is a big reality that most of us get but some people are failing to grasp. When EVERY single player sucks how can you not see that this coaching staff/front office is a complete and utter joke.
  9. That wasn't a bad pitch by Robertson.. but man he isn't worth all that money.
  10. I liked most of the moves they made... the only one I thought was suspect was LaRoche. There is likely some dysfunction at the top and not everything its Ventura's fault but this team just plays such dumb/uninspired baseball. The players, especially the veteran ones, a lot of it falls on their shoulders. To me the only group that sometimes shows some mental fortitude is the pitching staff. The rest of the players, nearly all of them seem eternally in a negative mental funk - and its spreading. I don't see a team that plays with any confidence and that plays tight. Maybe its not Robin's fault but I don't see a team that plays loose - despite the conclusion that manager is "laid back" Robin will go down as one of the most unsuccessful managers in White Sox history - its too bad because he seems a great guy with a great sense of humor. From Day one it never felt right , it wasn't going to work and it never did - one season that was a choke job down the stretch and the rest basement dwellings.
  11. Abreu is scaring me... I'm not sure who the real guy is. He has sucked hardcore as of late.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 06:18 PM) Then don't. Problem solved. Nothing else to DVR before bedtime...
  13. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 10:02 PM) All I'm saying is that the players seem to really like playing for our manager and FO. The media tries to cause dissention among the family and people latch on to that propoganda without a second thought. Cooper slammed a phone-> Cooper hates Robin-> clean house! Ludicrous. Flowers sucks. That is fact. The rest I dunno. People have been saying clean house for months...no one is saying Cooper hats Robin. But cracks might be forming... which commonly happens when you lose. None of this is new.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 05:23 PM) Sale in a 2-0 game in the 7th, after an 8 day rest,,with a taxed bullpen, right around 100 pitches. How can it be anything but Robin is the biggest idiot? The more opinions I Read, the more I understand why innocent people take plea deals. Your going to have to give me some links where its stated that Cooper "makes pitching decisions" as in when to take the pitchers out... I've read that 3 times in this thread and have never in my life heard that. I think Coopers has a lot of input but when it comes to "the Hook" that's Ventura all the way. I read something about how Robin lead the league in "Slow Hooks" last year which is understandable since the bullpen was horrid. (this is from Bill James) it didn't say Cooper led the league in slow hooks... Not everything is Robin's Fault but your relentless defense of him in all things is pretty strange. Robin is one part of the problem but not the entire problem - but he is indeed part of it.
  15. I've never seen him do anything like that.... even after the 10000 times a pitcher has given up the game.
  16. Did you guys catch that? I'm reading that as he didn't agree with leaving Sale in that long.
  17. another finally managed game by Ventura... One of the worse I've ever seen.
  18. Jose either has his head stuck up his A** or he is hurt. If it's the latter this guy has some problems staying healthy big time.
  19. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 02:11 PM) Apologies if posted elsewhere, but apparently nothing wrong with Robertson yesterday, just another brilliant attempt at strategy by RV. Dude's in a league of his own. http://www.southsidesox.com/2015/7/19/8999...david-robertson Too bad he didn't do us a solid Sandberg and bow at the ASB. Robin is a hell of a good guy. Not a major league manager... not even close.
  20. The middle of our line up is such a pile of dog **** No power.. Abreu has me worried he is looking like a 1 year wonder.
  21. Just don't blame Ventura for this little league level mental team... Over and over again they make these dumb plays. Melky should have hit the bench after that play.
  22. Robin and the coaching staff really has these guys in the right frame of minds in key situations. When ALL your hitters look scared up there thats on the coaching. What a bunch of frauds.
