  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 08:38 PM) player makes a bad play he runs back to the dugout with his head down... Ventura has his head down as he runs by. Players strikes out 3 times or more in a row has no emotional reaction of any kind. Team throws the ball around allowing unearned runs to score... no one says anything to each other ... just a bunch of blank stares from players and coaches. I'm not going to document S*** though since that's a lot of work. But some of you are making laugh. It's like no one in the world's fault... its just the ebb and flow of the universe. None of those are actual specifics. You have seen those things occur just as I have... but if you want specifics I'll have to go check my film vault.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 12:28 PM) This is said for one reason, and one reason only. The fans on TV don't see someone screaming at someone else. This era of sports is pretty well gone. This stuff is done behind close doors now so that the meatball fans don't make it into some huge deal when it happens. Lax attitude doesn't have to be about "yelling".... There are about 100 other verbal and non verbal signals involved.
  3. I disagree with nearly everything about Eaton... to me its symptomatic of how done this staff is.. Eaton has made some mistakes and hasn't hit as well as last year. But to me is one of the FEW guys that actually plays like he cares. So you have 20 zombies but the coaches go after the one guy with a pulse. It's a joke.
  4. I'm not making any final conclusions about AVI... It's that I hear all this talk about how great he is going to be from people inside and outside the organization. I have some serious doubts... He ranks near the bottom in multiple plate discipline categories... He is 2nd in all of baseball in swings and misses.. also 2nd in all of baseball at swinging at pitches outside the zone.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 11:12 AM) Sure there are some, but one thing is we don't know what goes on behind the scenes. When you want to believe Robin is totally lax, you ignore the shouting matches reported with Sale. You ignore the dust up Parent had with Eaton just the other day. The team is deflated. There is no question about that. Tampa was a disaster. Last night was a disaster. Before that, they seemed to be coming around a bit. Of course this has happened several times before. The lax part just isn't true. The Royals were losing more games than they were winning. Again, I think leaders are leaders. If the exact same dynamic was occurring in the clubhouse if the Sox were 10 games over as is occurring now, these guys would be considered great leaders. We don't know what goes on in any clubhouse, and the snippets we do get suggest it is far from the lax country club atmosphere apparently someone wants to make basing it on a W-L record and a manager that doesn't scream at players in the dugout. It's the lax attitude on the field and at the plate... the clubhouse - yeah we can't know that for sure. But its not unreasonable for people to see lax play has a lax attitude from the clubhouse.. its only been seen in every major sport.
  6. The entire coaching staff needs to be rebooted... If the players are just as garbage after the reboot.... then we will know its all on the players and can move on from there. But something drastic needs to be done soon... or its going to be too late to matter. To me I honestly see the players doing the same mistakes over and over... Giving away at bats... not being professional hitters or fielders. I can't say who is to blame for sure- but there are ways to find out.
  7. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 15, 2015 -> 09:33 PM) He's not all bad. Future LF/DH. Not what I would consider the problem right now. We will see... having some serious doubts.
  8. when you take into consideration that they can't hit either... not a good combo...
  9. Is he 0 for his last 50? I've never seen such a clueless undisciplined hitter. Prove me wrong Avi but you are looking like a man spiraling into a bust.
  10. Robin needs to go back on vacation for good and bring the rest of the staff with him...
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 09:59 PM) I will say whatever the bleep I want since you said I could. We still would have gotten swept had Robin been at the helm. At least we know Parent is a clown as well. Sox had their first controversy of the season with him in charge, Eaton meeting with him after getting benched. The manager didn't take three games off, by the way. He got a paid leave of absence approved by the GM and owner to go to his daughter's graduation. You ought to get over it. It had no effect on the series. Tampa is way better than Chicago, especially at home. Our team simply is lousy. Hanging around .500 truly has been a miracle. Eventually (I 'm not sure when) this team will fall 10, 15 below .500 and that's where it will stay, probably finishing the season 10-15 under unless it puts together some crazy win streak once they are officially eliminated. Start the firesale, baby! But seriously this topic should never have started. Robin had no effect on those games, geez. It doesn't make the Sox look like a joke as you suggested BTW. The Sox did the right thing letting him off instead of enduring those 3 losses. GO SOX! You are right... I mean why even hire managers or have them in the hall of fame. They have no point.
  12. You can say whatever the F*** you want... but when we win 3 in a row and then the manager takes 3 games off and we lose them all. It doesn't look good... makes the white sox look like a joke... Am I saying it would have mattered if Robin was here? Nah I'm not making that conclusion But boy does it look bad now.
  13. Semien is batting like .275 with 400 errors at shortstop..
  14. apparently our coaching staff likes to leave some of sad arse hitters to face the closer leading of the 9th. Wow this coaching staff can look like such a joke sometimes.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 01:09 PM) Good news for you, I have a handy jump to conclusions matt you can borrow. I totally missed the quote and who it was by... my fault. Thanks for the offer though Bill Lumbergh.
  16. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 12:24 PM) Agreed 1000%. I can't believe this is even a big deal to some people. I am not a fan of Robin but I have no problem with him taking 3 days off to travel cross country to see a once in a lifetime event for his daughter. Interesting thing about that tweet is Robin's words at the end of that.. "This was my decision." I never thought for one second it wasn't but that statement makes me thing he is wondering if people think management told him to take a break? or...
  17. My own father didn't go to my graduation from college because he was playing golf... Oh wait I didn't go either was on Sunday... not missing NFL games! Can't blame someone for wanting 3 days off from a pressure job... but be expecting some grumbles.. I'm sure Robin can handle it.
  18. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 11, 2015 -> 09:06 PM) Yeah, but they waited until travel conditions were better. Robin should have told his daughter to wait until they were on the west coast. The hatred be spewed is disgusting. Just a tad over dramatic Imho. I for sure don't hate Robin... he is probably one of my favorite White Sox personalities... Robin is hilarious. Nor to I really give much a crap if he missed 3 games. Is he a major league manager? That is one I'm not sure about.
  19. Going to put in a pretty solid inference that this is something him and management agreed to before he took the job... that he would have this flexability for family events.
  20. Soto is obviously a more competent bat yes... however how does he control the pitchers? That is the thing I really don't know. Watching Flowers bat is pretty painful.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 11, 2015 -> 09:13 AM) It's funny how managers are given much more leeway with this type of stuff than players are. It seems like players are lucky to get two days off for the birth of a child. I have never seen this before. I really don't care if Ventura misses... it's nice that the Sox organization isn't being facist to its manager. Just going to be honest this and last year missing games for graduations.... Can someone give me a similar example? I can't think of one.
  22. It was a widely held belief by a ton of intelligent baseball people that the Sox were going to be good this year with all their signings.... It hasn't happened yet but these few people running in here like "I told you so..." It makes me laugh...
  23. two or three outings in a row that Putnam has tight movement. Looks good.
