QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 09:03 PM) What do you see when you see Danks? The guy f***ing competes. What do people expect from Danks? The guy gives his all and often has good results. He may very well give his all. However since his injury issues his results have been not so great. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 08:55 PM) He's awful, nothing more needs to be said Danks has rebounded nicely tonight... But yeah he is meatballs and noodles. 88 mph fast ball with a nice juicy changing up. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 08:29 PM) Ramirez looking for offspeed stuff away and aced twice tonight on the inside. Locke two K's away from his season/career high. How many times have we heard that this season so far? White Sox team average now at .237 or .238. I've never seen such a lost group of hitters. They look like minor leaguers. -

Mark P to Alexei? Did you notice the other 6 strikes he called on the inside corner to you? Pro Tip: he is calling those strikes. -

Ventura should have ejected himself for having melky bat 2nd right handed. I'll give Ventura this - he was right to be mad and get ejected. Loved Robin when he played with ozzie and Hurt But for the love of god please can him/KW and co go away. This isn't working. -

Hawk makes me laugh... when would the "wrong" time have been this year to play us? Even when we won 6 in a row it wasn't like we were dropping 8-10 runs on people. We have been beatable all year... Only wrong time is when Sale pitches.. and even then our offense is such a joke that we can lose. -

QUOTE (PorkChopExpress @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 07:19 PM) Are the Pirates stealing signs or something? They are jumping all over our pitching like they know what's coming. It's easy to see meatball floaters coming over the middle of the plate. No stealing signs necessary. John Danks 1. Not MLB stuff. 2. Not MLB control 3. do the math. -
My view on managers in general- RV in particular

QUOTE (SCCWS @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 06:04 PM) So according to your theory the Bulls players are just as happy as the Blackhawks??? After all it is just about the paycheck. Somehow I don't think so. Eaton wasn't happy in spite of his paycheck. Most players don't like losing for sure... But year after year in all sports the majority of players sign for the higher paycheck - because for their/family futures. -

QUOTE (SCCWS @ Jun 17, 2015 -> 04:56 PM) So you like being a loser!!!!! I am assuming you did not play any competitive sports. I doubt any players are happy playing on this team at this point. Nice Troll post... and way to leave out most of the context of what I said. -

If I were a player I'd love to play for Ventura and Cooper. However when a team makes a bunch of constant mental errors and plays messy (in any sport) it reflects on the coach. Is it fair? In some cases maybe not - but in most cases it's fair. Some on this message board really seem to believe there is nothing wrong with our coaching staff. And you think the rest of us are being reactionary, unreasonable, ect. To think that the coaching staff is not to blame in anyway... To me that's any bit or more irrational of an attitude. -

You win or you don't. When you are a coach and you lose... magnified x100 in professional sports. You lose your job. No one really cares about excuses (real or imagined). It's reality. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 08:38 PM) player makes a bad play he runs back to the dugout with his head down... Ventura has his head down as he runs by. Players strikes out 3 times or more in a row has no emotional reaction of any kind. Team throws the ball around allowing unearned runs to score... no one says anything to each other ... just a bunch of blank stares from players and coaches. I'm not going to document S*** though since that's a lot of work. But some of you are making laugh. It's like no one in the world's fault... its just the ebb and flow of the universe. None of those are actual specifics. You have seen those things occur just as I have... but if you want specifics I'll have to go check my film vault.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 12:28 PM) This is said for one reason, and one reason only. The fans on TV don't see someone screaming at someone else. This era of sports is pretty well gone. This stuff is done behind close doors now so that the meatball fans don't make it into some huge deal when it happens. Lax attitude doesn't have to be about "yelling".... There are about 100 other verbal and non verbal signals involved.

I disagree with nearly everything about Eaton... to me its symptomatic of how done this staff is.. Eaton has made some mistakes and hasn't hit as well as last year. But to me is one of the FEW guys that actually plays like he cares. So you have 20 zombies but the coaches go after the one guy with a pulse. It's a joke.

I'm not making any final conclusions about AVI... It's that I hear all this talk about how great he is going to be from people inside and outside the organization. I have some serious doubts... He ranks near the bottom in multiple plate discipline categories... He is 2nd in all of baseball in swings and misses.. also 2nd in all of baseball at swinging at pitches outside the zone.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 16, 2015 -> 11:12 AM) Sure there are some, but one thing is we don't know what goes on behind the scenes. When you want to believe Robin is totally lax, you ignore the shouting matches reported with Sale. You ignore the dust up Parent had with Eaton just the other day. The team is deflated. There is no question about that. Tampa was a disaster. Last night was a disaster. Before that, they seemed to be coming around a bit. Of course this has happened several times before. The lax part just isn't true. The Royals were losing more games than they were winning. Again, I think leaders are leaders. If the exact same dynamic was occurring in the clubhouse if the Sox were 10 games over as is occurring now, these guys would be considered great leaders. We don't know what goes on in any clubhouse, and the snippets we do get suggest it is far from the lax country club atmosphere apparently someone wants to make basing it on a W-L record and a manager that doesn't scream at players in the dugout. It's the lax attitude on the field and at the plate... the clubhouse - yeah we can't know that for sure. But its not unreasonable for people to see lax play has a lax attitude from the clubhouse.. its only been seen in every major sport.

The entire coaching staff needs to be rebooted... If the players are just as garbage after the reboot.... then we will know its all on the players and can move on from there. But something drastic needs to be done soon... or its going to be too late to matter. To me I honestly see the players doing the same mistakes over and over... Giving away at bats... not being professional hitters or fielders. I can't say who is to blame for sure- but there are ways to find out.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 15, 2015 -> 09:33 PM) He's not all bad. Future LF/DH. Not what I would consider the problem right now. We will see... having some serious doubts.
-
when you take into consideration that they can't hit either... not a good combo...
-
Is he 0 for his last 50? I've never seen such a clueless undisciplined hitter. Prove me wrong Avi but you are looking like a man spiraling into a bust.
-
Robin needs to go back on vacation for good and bring the rest of the staff with him...
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 09:59 PM) I will say whatever the bleep I want since you said I could. We still would have gotten swept had Robin been at the helm. At least we know Parent is a clown as well. Sox had their first controversy of the season with him in charge, Eaton meeting with him after getting benched. The manager didn't take three games off, by the way. He got a paid leave of absence approved by the GM and owner to go to his daughter's graduation. You ought to get over it. It had no effect on the series. Tampa is way better than Chicago, especially at home. Our team simply is lousy. Hanging around .500 truly has been a miracle. Eventually (I 'm not sure when) this team will fall 10, 15 below .500 and that's where it will stay, probably finishing the season 10-15 under unless it puts together some crazy win streak once they are officially eliminated. Start the firesale, baby! But seriously this topic should never have started. Robin had no effect on those games, geez. It doesn't make the Sox look like a joke as you suggested BTW. The Sox did the right thing letting him off instead of enduring those 3 losses. GO SOX! You are right... I mean why even hire managers or have them in the hall of fame. They have no point.
