  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 2, 2016 -> 08:21 PM) Wish you the best of luck Robin. You always handled the job with the utmost class and respect. While I don't think you were the best manager on the planet, I certainly don't think you were near as bad as many people indicated and you were clearly dealt a really bad deck from executive management. Wish you all the best!!! And for those that say Robin was a big part of the problem, I think you are crazy. I could pretty much never say a mgr is the big part of the problem, unless we had a really damn good roster that consistently underperformed. With Robin, I think it was the opposite, we had a really pretty s***ty roster with tons of flaws and got about what we should have realistically expected. Not even Bobby Valentine?
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 7, 2016 -> 07:03 AM) In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the people they are trading are the guys that aren't going to be around. Melky, Frazier, Robertson. Who would be surprised?
  3. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Aug 29, 2016 -> 12:20 AM) I'd take Puig if they eat some of his contract. We could sign Cespedes and get the 3 Cubans together. I wonder if Puig would become less of a negative distraction in this scenario. Give them Avi Garcia for Puig with them eating some of Puig's contract. The White Sox wouldn't be able to dump Avi's salary on any team in exchange for nothing. He literally has negative value. He's going to be non-tendered in the offseason. An inclusion of Avi in any trade means the Sox have to add more to the deal.
  4. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 06:42 AM) Shouldn't Lawrie be included in this if Saladino is? Of those players other than Lawrie only Sanchez could possibly be a free agent in '21. I like Lawrie, but he's probably going to be a free agent in '18. The other guys are all '22 or later so I don't think they're comparable.
  5. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 03:26 PM) Someone on the Red Sox forum Sons of Sam Horn posted this: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2016-trade-value-21-to-30/ Check out players 25 and 26. There isn't a GM on the planet who wouldn't trade Moncada for Quintana straight up.
  6. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 06:00 PM) Same could be said about Burns which is why I mentioned an Avi for Burns swap. That doesn't mean Oakland would be interested, just an idea. Billy Burns is arbitration eligible in 2018 at the earliest he's not getting non-tendered.
  7. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 05:30 PM) Avi for Burns sounds like a fair swap to me. Both could be the change of scenery candidates. Is there anyway Avi doesn't get non-tendered in the off season? Why would anybody trade for him?
  8. Corey Dickerson would cost more but he would be a much better fit.
  9. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:43 PM) Didn't say it wasn't, but he would have been safe. It looked to me like the relay man threw a safe lollipop throw once he saw Anderson and the catcher pull up.. It definitely wasn't the fielders gun him out throw. I think Anderson would've been out by several steps on a real throw.
  10. Lawrie has got to stand closer to the plate. Pitchers always throw it outside to him. He can't hit them from where he's standing.
  11. Would anyone not be OK with trading Tim Anderson for George Springer?
  12. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 6, 2016 -> 06:41 PM) He lays it on way too thick for an 162 game season. Yea he's only doing about 90 or so but it gets old. We don't need another Stacy King cornball on the mic. I can't believe you just compared Jason to Stacy King rather than hawk. I am speechless.
  13. From last night's game http://awfulannouncing.com/2016/hawk-harre...an-of-corn.html
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 6, 2016 -> 04:28 PM) I really don't think there's a chance Avi goes to the minors He's 24. He should be getting regular at bats, and as much time in the outfield as possible. The problem is that's not going to happen in the majors. If the White Sox want to see him develop to his full potential he needs to be in AAA.
  15. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 25, 2015 -> 02:30 PM) My man! Thanks for adding them to the list Caulfield. Soooo many options available its crazy. Byrd and Aoki are two cheap players that would still be vast upgrades over Avi.
  16. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 09:13 PM) Lol just no Do you really have a better idea? Avi is the worst hitter still on the team besides Laroache and he's not going anywhere for obvious reasons.
  17. Eaton reminds me of Johnny Knox. He makes highlight plays because he takes bad routes on catches that should be fairly routine. Regardless if Eaton moves to the corner I think Avi should be sent down to the minors and left there for all of 2016.
  18. QUOTE (ecupittfan @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 08:10 PM) My first question is what is lsd? Thanks for the recommendations on hotels. I will look into hotwire. I need to know the polish sausage place. Will definitely try some deep dish pizza. Keep the recommendations \coming. The sox are hot right now. Watch every game on mlbtv. Hopefully they will figure out how to score some runs. Pitching has been amazing. Hoping we get to see Sale pitch as that is my son's favorite player on the sox. Lake Shore Drive
  19. QUOTE (Chris Sale @ May 20, 2015 -> 06:33 PM) Better Off Alone. Great song. Thank you!!
  20. Can anyone tell me what Carlos Sanchez's synth heavy walk up song is? It's not that 2 Chainz song they have listed on whitesox.com.
  21. QUOTE (LDF @ Mar 4, 2015 -> 06:51 PM) and as of today, 3-4-15 mlb rumors had this poll going out Poll: Wisest $60MM To $70MM Offseason Spend and none from the current batch of the sox are even in the listings. worst yet, the sox is not even mention. what kind of BS is this. what there is no sox love out there. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/ That poll is only for the teams that spent a total of $60MM to $70MM on free agents this offseason. The White Sox spent well over that which is why they are not mentioned.
  22. At that price I would sign Shields if Danks is traded or not.
  23. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jan 18, 2015 -> 01:40 PM) Shields has been linked to the Tigers according to recent reports. Which is another reason White Sox should go after him.
  24. With Ken Rosenthal reporting "Some execs now believe (James Shields) is headed for a four-year deal, perhaps in the $70 million-$80 million range" I think the White Sox need to look into him. Shields would provide a post 2015 rotation guarantee that would be needed if Samardzija leaves.
