  1. Thank god for his quick thinking, another 30 seconds and Vogelbach might have walked into 1st safely.
  2. It's too bad the Sox don't have anyone close to being able to replace Anderson at SS. He should be in the outfield
  3. They're really high on pitching. Speaking of which that's an awful picture for their #2 player Stewart, the dudes face looks like it belongs to one of those frozen, abandoned, long dead bodies on Everest.
  4. Len 2:07 Any new buzz in the top 10 since your mock and rankings updates last week? Kiley McDaniel 2:08 yep, hearing 2-3-4 will go Swaggerty-Bohm-Madrigal now, with Cincy at 5 being the first wild card where people don't really have a beat on it. Bart seems to be the favorite with Singer as the cut rate option. Then after that it's still shrug emoji
  5. The Sox drafted 2 1b with their 1st two picks last year. Collins fielding has been a concern since he was picked 1st in 2016. I would be upset if they think Bohm is the best player at #4. He may very well be, but it would still disappoint me knowing that they didn't think anyone at a more premium position was good enough.
  6. I ran into that problem a few days ago too, but it works for me if you click the part in green where it says "Hi there! MLBfarm.com has a new look. Click here for a sneak peek >>" https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/prospects/stats/affiliates
  7. Adams just turned 22 and hasn't even been eligible for the Rule 5 draft at this point
  8. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 10:13 AM) The difference is Leury is an actual MLB player, while Trayce is just not good. I do agree that he's a better option than Engel, but unfortunately I think we're stuck with him for a while. TT / 1.9 bWAR / 1.8 fWAR in 459 PA LG / 0.1 bWAR / -0.5 fWAR in 683 PA Last season was a different story, but you never know
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 15, 2018 -> 09:59 PM) Well, considering most of the board has Stephens going to the bullpen...Clarkin, theoretically, has a bit more value as a LHP and theoretical #4/5 starter. Now whether he's ahead of Guerrero, I'll let those who follow the minors more closely make that decision in terms of the upsides for each. It's clear who the White Sox think is more valuable between Guerrero and Clarkin since the Sox protected Clarkin before the Rule 5 draft but left Guerrero exposed
  10. Can anyone please explain to me the comments on this Reddit post? I know Reddit loves their memes, but people are acting like this is the play of the year thus far... https://www.reddit.com/r/baseball/comments/...in_the_hole_to/
  11. Yay! One more year of watching Tim Anderson fail miserably at keeping his foot on the bag. How pathetic for a SS
  12. Even if he was 100% set on bringing Bummer in Ricky should have also had a righty throwing in the pen. It might have made Gibbons think twice about using a pinch hitter there.
  13. I would like to thank the downtime for my awesome new avatar!
  14. But also projects that outside of the top 10 by a fair margin, the Sox have the second best "projected WAR, next 10 players". I don't think there is anyone among us who thinks that the Sox will be a top 10 team if they only produce on their star talents.
  15. So these new rules that were designed to entice teams to sign players with compensation attached actually made it less enticing for the White Sox this year. The 1st round pick would've been protected anyway, so they would still give up a second rounder but now they also lose international money too.
  16. Yeah if the Sox didn't have Yolmer Mous could make sense. I'd prefer Yolmer
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 2, 2018 -> 09:44 PM) The Dodgers can go ahead and hoard the prospects they have left. They have room to sign Harper next year and I think they will. But you know what else happens in 2019? Corey Seager is in Arbitration year 1 and he's going to top the $11 million barrier Bryant was close to. So good luck in 2020 when he's even more expensive. We'll wave from the mound while celebrating. You're acting like it's a bad thing for teams to have a player that is good enough to get 10 million in their first year of arbitration

  19. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 25, 2018 -> 05:45 PM) Never count Boras out, this is all part of the game. Maybe it doesn't all go in his favor, but all it takes is one team. As safe a pick as possible
  20. QUOTE (ChiSox1917 @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 11:10 PM) He's a AAAA player That might be too generous. He hasn't shown that he's a decent AA or AAA player yet
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 01:32 PM) Versus taking one time set and making it gospel? That is exactly how you measure how fast a player can run...
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 18, 2018 -> 06:35 AM) That's not really true though. There are tweets out there about Garcia making a catch with an over 29 time, as well as his baseball cube page still listing him as a 93 out of 100 on the speed scale, which would put him at around a 75 speed Look at how baseball cube comes up with their speed rating. "Speed: Number of stolen bases per trips to first base. Does not consider whether there are other runners on base blocking his path". That is legitimately the worst way to measure speed I've ever seen.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 04:54 PM) You do realize the difference between scouting and stats right? I sure do. However, you clearly don't know the difference between "is" and "was" because you will not be able to find anywhere that has Leury "billed as having somewhere around 70 to 75 rated speed".
  24. Everything you posted has reports from around 2013. You said "Leury is billed as having somewhere around 70 to 75 rated speed". Once again here is data from the 2017 season that shows that you're wrong. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sprint_speed_leaderboard
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 17, 2018 -> 12:10 PM) Leury is billed as having somewhere around 70 to 75 rated speed. Where? Statcast data shows otherwise
