From the box score, it looks like he left with the bases loaded. The first guy following walked his one hitter. The next guy gave up two hits and hit a batter to clear the bases. I'd say let Cotts pitch 7 innings in the MAJORS on Saturday, then get him out of there. Anyone think Danny Wright can do any better?? I'd take him right now over the San Diego pitcher Jarvis and give him even money to be better than Suppan. Here are 4 young pitchers who have come up this year to make big impacts: Dontrelle Willis, 21 Jerome Williams, 21 Rich Harden, 21 Brendan Webb, 24 Cotts could be #5. Our own version of Francisco Rodriguez.

My vote would be to bring up Cotts unless the Pirates are willing to drop Suppan into our laps very cheaply (Porzio cheap, for example). I'm guessing the Sox' front office is leaning toward Wright if a trade is not made, but Cotts would have the element of unfamiliarity to his benefit. And we've seen 4 other starters come up from the minors this year and dominate. Dontrelle Willis, 21, from AA Rich Harden, 21, from AAA (followed Cotts in the futures game) Jerome Williams, 21, from AAA Brandon Webb, 24, from AAA Neal Cotts could be #5.

So, I see you're over here now after trying to resurrect the MLB Sox site. All these bells and whistles are too confusing, but at least there is more intelligent discussion of trade issues and what we're going to do for a 5th starter.
