  1. This. And if you’re afraid of him winning the award just call him up in like June or July.
  2. .926 OPS in Spring Training is why he made it.
  3. I'm good with Baldwin holding down the fort for a few weeks at SS to get that extra year of control personally.
  4. I like him too if he were a second piece in a Crochet deal. 5 years of control and all the other reasons you mentioned.
  5. After a second round exit and first round exit back to back years perhaps they will be. Mayo and Basallo are sort of blocked as well. Do they have any extra draft picks anywhere they can deal like they did for Burnes last off-season (this is why I wanted Cowser to win RoY)?
  6. In Robert's 4 full seasons in the MLB, 2024 was the year he played the second most games (100 even), so a relatively healthy year for him. That's on you if you thought he would be a huge factor all season long. I will say this again, if not for Eloy and Yoan, people would get on him more about his health and injury history. He's lucky they were here to shield him. I won't miss him if/when they trade him.
  7. I figured it would be the same guaranteed amount DeJong got last year.
  8. Is being "successful" just making the Majors? That seems like a low bar.
  9. I think its just a hypothetical "would you rather have A or B" discussion. Would you rather pay Abreu the league minimum or AV almost $6.5M? I don't care about JR saving money but also don't think Vaughn is good so I'd rather go in a different direction that isn't Abreu or AV.
  10. Best bet is that some team wants him in a platoon at 1B. But then having a 1B only type player limits yours bench (depending on what you're doing with your DH position I guess).
  11. To be fair, when you don’t spend on top talent and your MLB roster has holes, you tend to push high ceiling guys quickly. But on the flipside, I guess that could cause you to rely on the promotion of guys who are just average or "meh" in the minors as well.
  12. Julks is immediately expendable with the Slater add.
  13. Yeah, a guy I just learned/remembered was on the team yesterday
  14. Yeah, I guess if you wanted to protect those relievers, you would just be replacing the older relievers (Anderson, Kuhl, De Los Santos, Ron M (don't know how to spell it), Varland, etc). Julks is another guy who feels like DFA fodder with Slater getting an MLB deal and serving as the RHH bench OF.
  15. They will probably try to sneak a few guys through waivers closer to Rule 5 Draft and non-tender guys. I think the 40-man roster flexibility narrative is a non-issue. Team just lost 120 games. Easily still fat that can be cut.
  16. Colson and Carela selected. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/11/white-sox-to-select-colson-montgomery-juan-carela.html
  17. Abreu at league minimum or Vaughn at about $6M? Idk I think I would prefer non-tendering Vaughn, sign Abreu to MiLB deal, and look for someone more interesting to play at 1B on a MLB deal. Or just move Vargas to 1B and play Ramos at 3B.
  18. Yeah, the older relievers for sure who should get a look with the Sox.
  19. Just say yes and agree with everything JR says.
