Add a few seconds to the pitch clock. Or maybe pickoff related.
-
Yeah I think Hendriks is probably 60-day bound. Crochet, probably not unless there’s a setback.

He’s gotta be in the lead for 4th OF right? I know he’s not a RHH but f*** it. -

Watch out Leury! -
We have said his name too many times. He's like Beetlejuice.
-
I want a real OF but man, I do not want Marisnick or Billy for the role. I almost feel like Leury is the favorite for 4th OF role since he's already being paid and on the roster, unless they pick up someone else.
-
What do you trade for him though? Maybe Braves use that bullet for a big piece in the summer.
-
Yeah, I think the only way rosters would have a chance to expend would be if the extra inning rule was gone.

ST: 3/19- Sox at Mariners (ss), 3:10

If they don't add someone from outside the organization, I have a feeling this is the way it's going to go as far as back up CF goes. There might actually be a spot for Burger DHing against lefties if that happens. Not sure I or even they would want to clear a 40-man spot for Billy for Marisnick. Hopefully they stick around in the minors as depth though. Edit: or Sheets. Not really as a platoon but extra bat. -

I'm hoping neither make it and they make a minor trade for a RHH OF or claim one off waivers towards the end of Spring Training. Both suck. -
Could happen in Spring Training.
-
A body.
-
I don't really feel like coming back to the argument of why Sheets isn't needed on the bench. Edit: I don't think the 4th OF spot goes to Marisnick or Hamilton. It will probably be a minor trade or waiver claim or something if I were guessing since both guys suck.
-
I still think they will carry a real 4th OF. And yeah, if Romy were hitting, I think Leury would actually have a decent chance of being DFA'd but as you said, he's playing himself off the roster.

Wow

We’re literally talking about where guys start the year and they work their way up when they prove themselves. No one is saying he should never hit 5th if he earns it. You’re just saying he should from day 1, which is the hill you are dying on but backing off of apparently. But there’s no discussion with you, only insults (mods see above, bolded) so I’m out.
-
Yeah I’ve realized it’s not worth talking to this guy previously but I fell in the hole.
-
I’m not against kicking Leury to the curb but I don’t think I would bring Billy with the team. Unless rosters expanded while there was still a 13 pitcher cap on rosters.

3/14 Sox vs A's, 3:05PM CT, A's Cast

Not a straight a platoon, no. But when he needs a day why not (Alberto doesn't fit well anywhere else honestly)? I think the bench will be: Zavala, Leury, Alberto, 4th OF to be named later because Hamilton and Marisnick suck. -

At this point it feels like a lock to make the team. He can get some at bats at third when Moncada sits against a lefty. -
Royals: not a lot of talent to start last year - makes sense Witt would bat high. Orioles: basically same as above; also, Adley started in 6th spot and they adjusted. Literally what everyone else is basically saying to do: start lower and adjust Indians: possibly less offensive talent to begin last year than either team above to start last year ha Jeremy Pena: hit 7th to begin year in front of awful offensive catcher Maldonado and defensive first CF. Moved up consistently when injuries started.
-
Hey, if we’re forced to watch him suck at his job, so is the rest of the world.
-
At this point, I have to agree. Alberto is going to make it based on Grifol's recent comments (within last couple weeks maybe?) about him. And Romy isn't having a good Spring. Plus, they need to have a real 4th OF, though I have a feeling it may come from outside the organization closer to the end of Spring Training.

Re-watching the beginning of the USA game from last night while working, DeRosa mentioned it may not be pretty but he wants his bat in the lineup. See, nothing wrong with becoming a bat-first 2B.
