  1. I think what we will see (note: not what I want exactly) is: R Anderson SS R Robert CF L Benintendi LF (I would swap him and Robert and when everyone was in camp, this is what they were doing) R Eloy DH S Moncada 3B (I think he hits here and they move him down if he's not hitting) R Vaughn 1B S Grandal C L Colas RF (I would at least bat him a spot higher to start and make Grandal prove he isn't toast) R Andrus 2B This is basically what they had it as when everyone was in camp. Edit: actually, this is exactly how even Roster Resource has them lined up.
  2. It’s. Spring. Training. Nothing wrong with him hitting 7th or 8th and adjusting if he’s hitting.
  3. Prime Timmy - Zombified LaRussa = ?????
  4. Yeah especially since Turner has a ton of experience there. But also we know how TA’s defense at short is…
  5. WBC is making me appreciate the pitch clock more and more every game.
  6. Yeah, let him face the better talent in Double-A and then on to the Triple-A coaching staff.
  7. Agreed. Flip him and Robert so Robert is 3 and the guy who is supposed to get on base is in front of him. I get the whole "bat your best player 2nd" idea but I mean, we're talking about 1 spot in the order.
  8. Pretty close to how I have it. The only difference is I wouldn't platoon Colas until he proves he can't hit lefties.
  9. At this point, I’m not even sure there’s anyone worth platooning him with so I think he’s probably safe.
  10. Yeah I think Colas hits in the bottom 3rd of the order to start the year. A good Spring Training is nice and all but means close to nothing.
  11. Well, maybe they will pick someone up towards the end of Spring Training that is cut loose from another team.
  12. Lol exactly. Put him in the stable if he needs to be a backup or take it out back and put him out of his misery and dfa him.
  13. Never understood the people wanting to cut him in the off-season. You’d bring him into the season and go from there. You’d at least give him a shot.
  14. I believe Moncada had a baserunning blunder earlier today too. Get them out of the way now.
  15. Yeah, I never wanted him on that deal or even long term but would have welcomed him back on a one year QO deal or let him walk for the draft pick.
  16. They just punted a year of Vaughn for like 5 games in 2021. They don't really do the service time manipulation so at this point, kind of expect Colas to make it.
  17. Personally, I'm more likely to watch a full game on a weeknight now if the game is finished in under 3 hours.
  18. Plus, I feel like watching NFL has more of a social aspect of it: having people over for the game, going out, etc only once a week as compared to in baseball, your team having 5-7 games a week. You really can't compare the two. Edit: this actually came up in the MLBTR chat yesterday: https://live.jotcast.com/chat/chat-with-mlbtrs-steve-adams-3-7-23-15237.html Here was the response on it: I don't agree with the idea comparing the NFL and MLB though. I don't think people care about long NFL games because most are watching football once, maybe twice a week. Getting together for football is sort of this occasional, social ritual where maybe you have friends/family over for the game, head to the bar to watch in a group setting, etc. Baseball's season is 162 games, plus the postseason. The idea that MLB and NFL games are comparable in length in 2022 doesn't really matter, because there were like 10x as many MLB games; at that point, the extra length definitely matters, and I can see where burnout occurs.
  19. Yeah it kinda seems that way. Maybe they will end up adding a couple seconds eventually.
