  1. Yeah use the money saved towards a 4th OF and another middle reliever.
  2. Yeah you would think it would be a minor league deal with opt out date of around when he is likely to come back.
  3. Sosa could def use some time in the minors and Romy seems more like a utility player.
  4. Right. I have a feeling they don’t end up trading him. They want him. However, if he’s traded it needs to feel like an overpay. So my prediction is he stays.
  5. @ptatc It looks like he hasn't signed on since August. Hope all is well with him.
  6. Yeah I'm not really concerned about power only players as hopefully improved health around the diamond and new coaches helps the guys already here. Just get good players.
  7. I would guess the lineup looks like this as of right now: 1. Anderson SS 2. Benintendi LF 3. Robert CF 4. Eloy DH 5. Moncada 3B 6. Vaughn 1B 7. Grandal C 8. Sheets (or/and then after 3 weeks, Colas) RF 9. Romy I wanted to put Vaughn in from of Moncada here but figured you probably need to break up the righties (Robert, Eloy, Vaughn) and lefties (Moncada, Grandal, Colas). Also didn't want to pencil in Moncada in the #2 spot as, to me anyway, he has to earn his way up. I put him 5th kind of by default but you're right, if we don't add another left-handed bat and Moncada and Grandal don't bounce back, it gets scary.
  8. The guy in the MLBTR chat yesterday predicted 2/$15M for Segura. I would hope that we would be able to add that if that's all he signed for. I would rather add now than try to make a trade for a need mid-season. I wish they could convince Jerry that if they spend a little more, they will be a better team and fans will want to come to the ballpark and spend money.
  9. Baty, Peterson, Parada, Escobar (Sox pay all of this and he plays 2B) for Hendriks? A Hendriks trade actually makes his luxury tax number lesser.
  10. I’m on the Segura train. Think he’s a good fit for the Dodgers and Red Sox too though.
  11. Being 23, I guess you can put him in AAA to start the year. Not like he set the world on fire in the majors last year. I know that doesn’t help the ‘23 roster (unless injuries force his way up) but maybe you also grab David Peterson in a deal who is a lefty and has options. Like I said this morning, I don’t think there’s really a fit unless the Sox are good taking guys who don’t really help much this season.
  12. Yeah I look at their roster and it looks pretty flawed for what they have spent.
  13. I don’t know if the Sox and Mets are really a fit. I’m sure they will be looking to move Carrasco, Escobar, and McCann before anyone else. I’m sure some teams will give up basically nothing and take on almost the entire contract of each guy where maybe Mets eat some of it.
  14. I think he’s their 2B. Escobar will be the guy moved I think.
  15. Wonder what Segura will get. If you can get him at 1/$10M or 1 year with an option, you do it right?
  16. Rendon (will likely get hurt), Urshela, Drury, Fletcher, Rengifo. Where they all playing?
  17. Yeah within the last few pages today but before Ottavino signed.
  18. Sign Correa. We have, by my count, $60M coming off books after this season.
