  1. Abreu at league minimum or Vaughn at about $6M? Idk I think I would prefer non-tendering Vaughn, sign Abreu to MiLB deal, and look for someone more interesting to play at 1B on a MLB deal. Or just move Vargas to 1B and play Ramos at 3B.
  2. Yeah, the older relievers for sure who should get a look with the Sox.
  3. Just say yes and agree with everything JR says.
  4. Yeah, if they want to open space on the 40-man right before the Rule 5 draft, it really won’t be that hard. Just look at the roster. No one will be upset if they DFA and lose Justin Anderson, or Gus Varland, or Pen Murfee.
  5. Yeah I will reiterate what I said earlier and say there’s plenty of fat to trim if the 40-man gets too full.
  6. I would have liked Cowser to win RoY so they could get the extra draft pick.
  7. Think it was more about work ethic than actually being a vocal type leader.
  8. Hes getting paid full contract from Astros minus league minimum wherever he signs.
  9. Platoon with Beni more likely. He's not replacing a LHH. Julks is a guy who should be more worried.
  10. There's definitely guys still here that we can non-tender, DFA though. Justin Anderson, Enyel De Los Santos, Ron Marinaccio (who?), Pen Murfee, Gus Varland, Chuckie Robinson, Jacob Amaya, Braden Shewmake, Corey Julks, Gavin Sheets are easily guys that can be cut and no one would care about. And someone who some seem to think could be a candidate to be non-tendered like Vaughn.
  11. Yeah, this seems like it probably could have been a minor league deal with a promise of adding him to the active roster Day 1 of the season.
  12. Yeah, he's a fine bench piece on this team.
  13. He's always hit better against lefties it looks like. Platoon/4th OF option.
  14. In buy-low type of deals, sure. In deals for our best players? No (unless they’re like the third piece at most).
  15. I don’t think the price is that bad if the only reason you pay for a YouTube TV or Hulu TV is for live sports in the first place (which you would cancel).
  16. Those last 2 came in a deal for a guy who was one of the worst SP and another guy who was one of the worst RP that year so not really the same page.
  17. That's fair. I'd trade basically a lottery ticket or two for the chance he has a good year to flip but I'm not trading anything more valuable than that. Don't really want him either.

  19. I think the point is that you're not going to get highly touted prospects/MLB players for slot money. More lottery ticket type guys who can blow up and would you be a huge win or would fizzle out and you would forget they even had him.
  20. Who? Knowing the Sox, their shopping bin probably consists of: Carlos Santana (can finish his tour of all the ALC teams), Anthony Rizzo, Joey Gallo, and like, Mark Canha. That tier of guys.
  21. I can easily see them trying to deal AB with Crochet but don’t see Robert for Lux. Doesn’t make sense to lessen your return for an ace but this is the White Sox here. They don’t deserve benefit of the doubt. Absolutely a possibility until he’s traded alone.
