  1. Yeah. It’s not really a great hitting position as is. Better off seeing if the off-season was good for him and rolling with Seby/Perez/depth signing. You can cut Grandal if he still looks toast.
  2. At the time it was signed it may not have looked like a bargain. But after seeing what guys are signing for this off-season so far, it certainly looks good.
  3. I would prefer they did not pour the limited resources they have into the catching position.
  4. Phillies have meetings setup to meet with the representatives of the top 4 free agent shortstops. Must be nice.
  5. Yeah, to move him it would have to feel like an overpay on the either team's end. I'd prefer to hold onto him and bank on him being motivated for a pay day after the season.
  6. Probably. I would rather just stay in-house.
  7. Oh I was referring to last year. There were about 7 deals I liked better than the Kelly deal heading into last season. Now, yeah that is likely going to be bad.
  8. Someone we should have signed last year for one year for less than Joe Kelly got. *sigh*
  9. Before looking it up, I'm guessing 36. Edit: whoa I was way off.
  10. IF they actually receive a good return I'd be open for it. Don't think he is here beyond next season.
  11. There are, just none that are a threat to be taken/interesting enough to be written about I guess.
  12. So happy this is finally happening again for the first time since 2019.
  13. Was Stone Garrett out of options? It so, that doesn’t “help the farm system.”
  14. The guy was cut from the Diamondbacks 40-man roster. Not a real loss. Edit: I guess 27 other teams are dumb for not claiming or trading for him.
  15. There’s other factors that go into this. You think a guy who is in his mid/upper-20s with not a lot of MLB experience is going to sign somewhere to compete to be a bench player or sign with a rebuilding team that can play him every day?
  16. Yeah it makes sense for the Astros, who didn’t have a 1B. I blame the front office for creating a logjam of 1B/DHs and Jerry for unwillingness to spend like a big market team in the middle of a competitive window.
  17. He probably wanted to go somewhere where he could play every day. That would be a team just like the Nats.
