  1. Interview Espada and the bench coach of the Rays who's name escapes me.
  2. Right now, according to Spotrac, if they buyout Harrison's option and Pollock picks up his player option, they would have $151,656,666 on the books for 2023 but the luxury tax number is $137,156,667. That doesn't factor in arb numbers because I just don't want to guess those but will add them to my tracker when MLBTR does their predictions since they are usually really close. Some guys like Crick, Engel, Ruiz could be candidates to be non-tendered. It doesn't look like buyouts count towards the CBT number but they owe Jose $1 mill in deferred money which does.
  3. They would satisfy that rule with former Sox minor league manager Willie Harris. Probably just a courtesy interview for Cairo since he has been here a couple years and was interim manager.
  4. We’re in a big market. Their budget should be the $233 mill luxury tax number. But it unfortunately won’t be.
  5. Or a team that signs him just needs a DH or 1B. We already have plenty of those.
  6. I do like Stone. Just think he’s awful on Twitter.
  7. I like to think it was either sarcasm or accidentally switched LF and RF to say "Pollock in LF and Colas in RF."
  8. Who are the most likely candidates? Miguel Cairo (obviously current interim manager), Willie Harris (managed in the Sox minors and a coach the past 3 years with Cubs), Bruce Bochy, Sandy Alomar Jr, Carlos Beltran? Add Joe Espada, Joe Maddon, AJ Hinch to the list? Edit: say no to Ozzie and AJ (but they would still be better than the current iteration of TLR)
  9. Kolten Wong maybe if Brewers pick up his option?
  10. He’s 67 and like 10 years younger than the when we hired the last guy. And less removed fromthe game.
  11. Interview Bochy, Harris, Beltran, Alomar Jr, anyone else available. Courtesy one of Maddon he even I don’t care. Just cast a wide net.
  12. And most people here wanted Hinch (at least it seemed).
  13. We used to say the same about Dave Martinez. He got a shot and won a World Series in Washington.
  14. Why is it so confusing? The talent is there. I’d rather bet on him pitching like he has before rather than trade him for nothing. Team won’t be trading top prospects at the chance to gamble on him so might as well hold onto him.
  15. Finished All of Us Are Dead on Netflix last night. Definitely the best zombie show/movie since....Dawn of the Dead remake maybe?
  16. I thought the same earlier. IL Grandal, call up Perez, DFA Harrison (free agent soon anyway), call up Sosa. Just guys on the 40-man already.
  17. Huh? What does possibly signing Machado to play 3B have to do with TA? lol they weren’t signing Machado to play SS and Moncada didn’t start playing 3B until Machado made his decision. edit: man I’d love to see an alternate universe where we signed Machado.
  18. He's not a good SS and I wish he would be open to moving over to 2B. Not sure what else you do in that scenario besides any idea of an in-house option for 2B suddenly becomes the SS.
  19. Free agent? I don't have that answer yet. Depth isn't a bad thing.
