Just looked up the details of his contract to see if there is a chance he opts out for next season. $10 mill player option or $5 mill buyout. He gets extra $1 mill added to the option at 400, 450, 500, 550, 600 plate appearances. I feel like there's a solid chance if/when that options gets to 450/500 PA. At that point, the option is $7-$8 mill. And who knows, maybe he gets to 550.

Doesn't matter how much the new team pays him. It's just subtracted from what Oakland pays, hence why these signings are league minimum. Unless you mean he can get an extra year out of a new deal for next year?
