  1. Definitely fair and basically what I/we all assume.
  2. I pointed this out to my bud earlier that it reminds me of when they were in on Machado and when Machado didn't sign, they didn't pivot to Harper, who was still available. Weird to have an offer out for Ohtani and the next day not be linked to Soto. Like, if you have a legit package out there for one why wouldn't you be connected to the other?
  3. Idk I'm kinda looking at it like it could be Eloy LF, Vaughn DH, Sheets RF or it could be Eloy LF, Vaughn RF, JDM DH. It doesn't matter much if none of the guys mentioned are even RF to begin with. Of course logic says just trade for an actual RF but you know, logic. And I don't even know who else they could still trade for at this point.
  4. Well we know what they should be doing but.....
  5. None of these guys would really help much. They've been getting better production from 2B lately. And as I edited, I'd almost rather see them dangle a few guys like Cueto and Hendriks.
  6. Who do you want him to trade for exactly? Brandon Drury? Kolten Wong? Ben Gamel? Personally I'd rather see them go the other way and dangle guys like Cueto and Hendriks.
  7. Honestly, his best move might just be to stand pat. He's not on the hot seat or going to get fired or anything.
  8. Oh god. That's who I am now picturing.
  9. The Padres were actually going to pay his full salary from 23-25 ($13 mill each) in the Soto deal with the Nats paying remainder of this season. So Padres would have only saved like $7mill in that deal on the Hosmer contract.
  10. He’s someone I wanted to sign for the 2021 season and he would have been a better signing than Eaton. This year on the other hand…
  11. Harold, you hearing about any potential Sox moves?
  12. Beautiful post that needs to be pinned somewhere.
  13. "Go fuck yourself San Diego." - Rob Bergundy, Eric Hosmer
  14. I just read that. Padres pay the next 3 years, but Nats pay remainder of 2022 salary, which is like what $7 mill.
  15. They can but then they'd have to pay him everything. The whole point was to move some money.
  16. It would already be a win for him if he accepts due to state income taxes. They get taxed based on where they play the games. So you'd be trading what, 100 games about in California for games out East?
  17. I'm definitely not opposed to some sort of shake up/re-allocation of resources.
