  1. Well, if they do want to add another legit starter and go with a 6-man for a while, they can go back to a 5-man by getting rid of/moving Keuchel to pen at some point.
  2. First move: Cardinals sign Drew VerHagen who was pitching in Japan the last couple of seasons to an MLB deal.
  3. I would expect there to be some negotiations for about a day after the deal was agreed to. This afternoon/evening I would think we start seeing guys come off the board pretty quickly.
  4. Excellent point actually. I think I've now flipped my stance lol
  5. That's what I was thinking too. It hurts his value that he can't be sent down to the minors though.
  6. I would definitely hang up the phone if I'm Arizone if that is the offer.
  7. Yeah definitely not buying into those fluke seasons from those 30 year olds Schwindel, Ortega and Wisdom.
  8. I know. It wouldn’t shock me if they add an outfielder and Correa, one of the many SP options and some relievers. Fuck that haha I don’t expect it though. I think they just saw an opportunity with Stroman at the price he signed for (I don’t think the contract is bad) and claimed Miley for nothing. It’s weird they signed Yan Gomes to a 2 year/ $12mill deal. I feel like that’s too much for a backup catcher and he’s actually the starter and Contreras gets dealt.
  9. My one buddy, who is a die-hard Cubs fan, claimed the Cubs were only 2 bats away from being good BEFORE the off-season started (completely ignoring their pitching it seems). He will be even more insufferable if Correa signs with the Cubs. So please don’t go there.
  10. Who are you trading for Marte if you have Vaughn penciled into the OF?
  11. It was going to be 26 before COVID. Then COVID and then rosters were like 30 in 2020.
  12. Sign a good hitter and hope you are winning big early and plug Engel or good defensive outfielder out there in the 7th or 8th
  13. Didn’t he just opt out or a remaining 3 year deal? Idk why he would take a 1-2 year deal. Nevermind it was 2. Still no way he signs for one or two years.
  14. So what happens if the MVP or CY Young isn’t a pre-arb player? The money just stays in the pool for everyone else?
  15. He did but it was also a ridiculously soft 60-game schedule. Pretty sure the only good offensive team we faced was the Twins lol Edit: he actually made 2 starts and did good against them lol
  16. I feel like if he were a free agent, he'd get a 2 or 3 year deal, with a little less AAV. $16 mill for one year isn't too crazy me thinks.
  17. I know that felt like a "they're doing their best but remember, if they don't add anyone, they still look really good with the guys they have." Almost setting us up for disappointment lol
  18. I honestly wanted him last off-season. I wanted them to grab another corner outfield bat to split corner OF and DH with Eloy and keep Vaughn in the minors for a bit. He would have been a nice piece to have post-Eloy injury lol
  19. Yeah I thought that too. I think it would be more structured like this though: ALC vs NLC 2 series, 1 home 1 away. Then ALC plays 1 series against half the NLE and NLW teams at home and the other half away. And then the following year, rotate home and away with the teams in the NLE and NLW. Edit: will be interesting to see if and how it happens.
  20. I don't know, I'm good not seeing Tigers, Royals, Guardians (this was weird to type lol), and Twins 19 times a year.
  21. I think Conforto will get less than Bryant so you can factor that in too. I also think Conforto is a better fit. Will be excited if they sign Bryant or Castellanos though lol
