With Muncy likely to miss beginning of season and the NL likely adding a DH, he’s not exactly an extra piece anymore. I’d be interested in seeing what it would take.
Graveman will likely be a setup man so that would replace Kimbrel’s role. No doubt Kimbrel gets moved.
Luxury tax increase also helps those teams that were right up against the previous amount and need a closer (Kimbrel).
I don’t think they will spend close to whatever the number ends up being but I think they trade Kimbrel. So say if there budget is close to what they are currently at, they have room for Conforto and lesser 2B signing, give or take going over a couple mill.
Come on, if you want to concede on something big, offer a bigger bonus pool for pre-arb players. That $20 mill comes out to just over half a mill a team.
There should be a different standard when you are in the sports/entertainment business.
When you're buying a team, you should want to invest resources into it and put the best team on the field. No fans are going to cheer for being the most profitable.
Right? So many guys get paid near league minimum for their best years. I honestly think a bonus pool of the like $115 mill they want for pre-arb players is fair considering that’s under $4 mill a team.
Actually seems like it should be an easy concession from owners.
