Was Anderson hurt on the official day last year? I know they honored him in August (also the day Chadwisk Boseman died, who played JR in the movie "42").
I'm still have this feeling that the Sox will be looking for a new manager by the 2022 season with LaRussa stepping away. 3 managers in 3 years. For a managerial position that should be the most coveted in baseball right now (bullshit that there wasn't really an interview process for this).
The answer for who they should have hired if they wanted an experienced winner, a non-cheater, and someone who has been in the dugout in the last decade? Bruce Bochy.
This is going about as great as everyone expected. Granted yes, Tony didn't hurt Eloy or TA, he did not make the defense fuck up for a week or make the bullpen struggle early. I just haven't been impressed with really any of his decisions so far.
Hated the hire since day one. I would have been fine just keeping Ricky or *gulp* giving Ozzie another shot. I would have preferred either of these alternatives to Tony.
