  1. Sign two veterans and hopefully flip one in June when guys come back from injury.
  2. I think if they sign O’Hearn (rather just play the guys we have here honestly) they might as well add Garcia. But none of it really matters if they don’t add a couple legit starters.
  3. And that’s fine. We know they’re not going to spend anything ahead of the strike. I wish that wasn’t the case because it would be more fun adding in 2026 when you know they won’t be able to draft higher than 10th in 2027 but it is what it is. Edit: the strategy they should have done after finding out their draft position for 2024.
  4. Hill is just a defensive first, 26th man, backup CF. I have no problem with him being here for now. Heck, he may not even make it to Spring Training. Not worth the energy even talking about.
  5. My comment isn’t that deep. He’s a guy who struggles to go 5 often. Worth 1.1 WAR last year. Not a guy I would be that excited to spend $30M/year for 7 years on. Maybe if it was high AAV short term deal.
  6. For sure. I just don’t think he’s the guy you spend $30M a year on. “Five and Dive” Dylan is what I used to call him.
  7. Sale went a good stretch without going on IL as well. Cease, being 29 now signing a 7-year deal, is going to see the IL as well.
  8. Feel like that’s going to be a bad one quick.
  9. Feel like that’s going to be a bad one quick.
  10. I don’t think anyone they traded for Peavy even did anything. This was the point of my post. Outside of a couple decent seasons from Kip Wells post-trade, neither did those guys really (Ritchie deal).
  11. I liked his aggressiveness. And there weren’t many trades where it seemed like they lost. Except maybe Gio Gonzalez and Chris Young.
  12. Yes please. Edit: I guess Sosa is no longer a fit there
  13. He’s still hanging around. I think he signed with the Cubs at some point last season.
  14. They only held onto him at the time because of his baby’s medical issues (I think cleft lip?) and having family support in area. More of a pain to uproot a guy midseason. Also, the return we would have gotten for him would likely be a guy we’re not even talking about 2-3 years from now.
  15. Think it just means they don’t want to commit $3M+ to a 35-year old, broken down player who will move to the bench after the first couple weeks/month of the season when Braden comes up.
