  1. With Cueto and Hamels (and probably Kazmir ) available, Shark probably won't be worth a whole lot no matter how he pitches. Probably to the point where they are better off offering the qualifying offer and him getting at least innings eater money on the open market.
  2. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 05:18 PM) Need hitters not pitchers right now. Keep going with pitching until proven otherwise. We never develop any hitting. Wait for someone like Hawkins or Anderson to come up and do damage.
  3. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 8, 2015 -> 05:11 PM) Sox really like to rush the good ones dont they... No way whoever it is debuts this season if they aren't competing.
  4. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jun 3, 2015 -> 09:09 AM) Hawk & Rowand was great. Steven Stone needs to bow out to Rowand's greatness. Lol just no
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 6, 2015 -> 08:56 PM) The Tigers' announcers saying the numbers are inflated mostly due to travelling Detroit fans. Not watching the game but feel this is probably the case.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 09:38 PM) Already suggested it in this thread Ah ok sorry. Haven't been following the thread and didn't want to look back.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 09:29 PM) Absolutely brutal swings by Melky from the right side. He might as well hit lefties vs LHP, it can't be worse. Ruggiano got dfa'd today. .263/.343/.474 against lefties this season. Pick him up to platoon with Melky
  8. QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 4, 2015 -> 07:53 PM) excellent and i am glad someone else wrote this. perfect post. Agree
  9. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 31, 2015 -> 05:01 PM) We will be going to 2 games in mid June and are wanting to know if there are any cheaper alternatives than the $20 parking at the stadium? We are staying in the Mount Prospect area so I know we can take the Metra downtown and then take the L to the game (would rather not do that for the night game) but it really wouldn't be cheaper with 2 people. If there are any parking tips please let me know. Thanks! Park on the street in front of Schaller's pump. No sticker or anything required.
  10. [quote name='Dick Allen' date='May 30, 2015 -> 12:48 PM' post='3171463' either way, I don't think it is a very big deal. Would be unfortunate if his knee started bothering him in RF again and had to be taken out. You'd have our best 2 bats out. I'd say that that would be a big deal. Edit: stupid phone always jumps around when I type on this site so I messed something up in the quote.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 30, 2015 -> 12:44 PM) I don't think the Sox see Bonifacio as an OF. Has he played there this season? Coming into the season, I'm pretty sure he only rated above average in RF
  12. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 30, 2015 -> 12:13 PM) Robin is truly stupid. Emilio is DHing and Avi is in RF. This is the PERFECT time to DH Avi and help his knee out more instead of making him run around in the field. Yeah I don't get why he's not dhing...
  13. QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 30, 2015 -> 11:31 AM) Peavy was also considered an injury risk and was 2 years older and was clearly on the decline plane of his career. When Samardzija had 1.5 years left on his contract, his price was much more than Peavy with 1.5 years left on his contract. Plus, Samardzija comes with a comp pick. Peavy didn't Thus an estimate that Samardzija with 1/2 years = Peavy with 1.5 years. If anything, more. False. Once Samardzija is traded, he does not come with a comp pick.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 30, 2015 -> 07:49 AM) GIVE HIM A DAY OFF ROBIN!!!! I imagine LaRoche will be at first and Avi will be at DH if they decide to sit him today.
  15. QUOTE (Mike F. @ May 28, 2015 -> 02:39 PM) I really like what Shuck brings to the table. A good, solid, scrappy player. A lot of people on here seem to complain about him being on the team but every time he plays it seems like hes on base frequently.
  16. Looks like he held up on that swing. Why no appeal to first?
  17. QUOTE (Dunt @ May 28, 2015 -> 09:41 AM) Definitely someone heading to the DL Yeah either Connor or Avi or Noesi dfa
  18. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 25, 2015 -> 08:38 PM) KW leaving is a must at this point. I wish we could have traded him to Toronto when they wanted him for anything.
  19. QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 19, 2015 -> 11:34 PM) Not another one who can't hit, though. Not Castro, but maybe that other kid they have (can't remember if he was called up).
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 13, 2015 -> 03:19 PM) Doug Padilla ‏@ESPNChiSox 2m2 minutes ago A lineup of Beckham (3B) and LaRoche (1B) -- and even Bonifacio over Johnson at 2B -- sure does sound like a nod to much-needed defense. Scott Merkin ‏@scottmerkin 2m2 minutes ago CWS 5/13: Eaton 8, Bonfacio 4, Cabrera 7, Garcia 9, LaRoche 3, Ramirez 6, Beckham 5, Flowers 2, Quintana LHP. Anyone else think that on days Beckham and Bonifacio are both in the infield, they should be playing Beckham at second and Bonifacio at third? Just my opinion as it seems Beckham is better and the combo of Alexei and Beckham was always great on double plays up the middle.
  21. I haven't updated this in a while. Just checking his stats, I sort of given up on him.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ May 10, 2015 -> 07:21 PM) Gordon's play has been welcome, previous performance aside. I was never that enamored with his 2b offense, but my God him playing 3b vs Gillaspie playing 3b is night and day. I will take the horrendous offense just to give some reliability at one position in the infield defense. Beckham and Alexei on the left side everyday would be awesome.
  23. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 10, 2015 -> 11:22 AM) That works for me. Wonder who they keep as the long reliever, as I don't see roles for both Noesi & Carroll once Rodon is in the rotation for good. Hopefully its Carroll.
  24. QUOTE (oldsox @ May 9, 2015 -> 10:19 AM) Do I have this right? White Sox want to put Abreu at third in order to get LaRoche's bat in the lineup? Let's start an over/under on how many bunt hits Brewers get. I think they will do this to get LaRoche 2-3 at bats. If there's a pitching change, switch Abreu to first and have the pitcher bat in LaRoche's spot (I'd stick him 5 in these kind of lineups with Avi hitting 4th), pinch hit Gillaspie if that spot comes up again and play Beckham at third hitting 9th. Hopefully Abreu can handle it for 5-6 innings.
