Step 1: sign Quentin to minor league deal Step 2: release Bonifacio at some point Step 3: platoon LaRoche/Quentin Step 4: profit -

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 07:35 PM) Honestly, those numbers are pretty terrible when you consider the bandbox that is his home park. I have zero faith he'll ever become a big leaguer let alone a starter. To be fair, he likely hasn't played all those games at home. -

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 07:59 AM) I'll put this here too... a couple things. First, saw Lakso comment that Davidson is going center and oppo a lot more often now. Second, the defense at 3B has apparently improved quite a bit, saw it a bit myself on MiLB.tv, and also multiple people commenting on it. For what those are worth. Our defense at third isn't anything special anyway so if he can field a little bit and hit the way everyone expected him to, everyone here would take it. -

QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 21, 2015 -> 06:58 AM) The average getting up to a respectable level is a start. Needs to increase the BB% and decrease the K% though. Would love to see him rake and start taking walks over the next month or two. -

This might as well just become the Matt Davidson watch thread. If he can get hot, he can find his way onto the MLB team as Connor doesn't really seem like a guy who should/would block him. -

AJ Pierzynski for manager. This team lost a ton of personality when he left. -
Rodon Joining Sox Tomorrow - Working out of Bullpen (Initially)
Bob Sacamano replied to DirtySox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I personally like capping his innings by having him see time in the pen as opposed to skipping him here and there and/or going with a 6-man rotation. -
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 09:17 PM) Eh, the Sox aren't really in a position (and many teams aren't) where you're gonna have a ton of arb eligible guys coming through the system and thus rising costs of your core roster have to get big raises. They bought out Jose, Sale, Eaton, Q's arb years already and those are the guys that could have gotten quite pricey. You've got Rodon up for super 2 what else? Avi might get pricey but if he plays that well they will probably sign him long term anyways. Danks will be coming off the books, possibly Ramirez as well. I'm not really seeing much of a budget problem and in fact there should be money available to replace those guys if they so choose. The real key will be if Anderson can replace Ramirez in house. If he can, that lifts the entire roster's outlook. MLB 2.0-4.0 WAR SSs certainly don't grow on trees. Jose can actually opt to go through arbitration after his third year. Same thing happened with Alexei in his first deal.

QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 04:34 PM) Nah, I know they arent going to sit that money. I don't think they will cut him, but if Noesi outpitches Danks up until Rodon comes up, stick Danks in the pen as a long reliever.
-
No reason to bunt with two of the fastest guys in the game on base. Bonifacio scores on a single easy.
-
Should put Avi up there for Eaton.
-
Great speed aboard and at the plate! Please no baserunning miscues.
-
Don't want to go back and read all the previous pages, but if its about Rodon possibly signing a team friendly Sale/Quintana type deal/extension you can forget that. Keep him down and get the extra year of control.

Why is our hottest bat, who is also our 5 hitter, sitting in a week with 2 days off?
-
Thank you Robin! Willing to bet Q throws Sunday.
-
In NL games, he would probably only play there for 5-6 innings until LaRoche gets a few at bats, then switch over to first with Gillaspie or Beckham coming in the rest. Probably wouldn't do it on a day you don't need much offense though (Sale pitching).
-
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 01:08 PM) My guess is it'll be Quintana (Tuesday), Noesi, Danks, Samardzija, Sale. Probably just a reorder due to the off day. I'd personally go: Tues: Quintana Wed: Danks/Noesi Fri: Sale Sat: Shark Sun: Quintana. Gotta throw your best out there to cool down Detroit. Sale and Quintana would be on normal rest.
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 09:04 AM) Matt Wieters and Evan Longoria I can see as targets. Longoria is definitely a guy I wouldn't mind the Sox going hard after as he is signed for 8 years with an option for a 9th.
-
If our catcher is going to suck defensively anyway, might as well start Soto.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 12:08 AM) That is beyond their capabilities. They often appear lifeless and boring when July comes around. Agree. They often seem this way. And thats on the manager in my opinion as Robin also looks like he manages lifeless and boring. -
With a day off Monday and Thursday, I would dfa Drabek as the corresponding roster move for Sale. Go with 6 relievers for three games, hope Petricka comes back next weekend and then send down one of Sanchez/Johnson.

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 06:34 PM) Shucks a LH...... Who hits good against lefties (small sample size but still)
-
QUOTE (Mike F. @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 05:04 PM) When Sale and Petricka come back, who gets sent down in their place? I'm guessing Drabek is a lock, but who would be the second guy that gets the boot? Probably Sanchez

A rainout tonight would make it Danks Noesi Sale this weekend? That would set up the rotation everyone expected it to be after they got shark
