  1. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Dec 13, 2014 -> 06:35 AM) That's a horrible school of thought. Draft picks are highly . luable are the life blood of any good organization. Plus the system needs more depths after the trade for Shark. We didn't lose that much depth. Ynoa is younger than Bassitt, Brantly (who is younger) replaces Phegley and Ravelo was pretty expendable. We did lose Semien but we won't be talking about that if he does bad and/or Johnson or Sanchez plays respectable for us.
  2. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 05:23 PM) I agree. Hahn and KW has gone this far, sign him and he legitimizes our 1-6. 4 years/55-60 million 1-7* Eaton Cabrera Abreu LaRoche Garcia Gillaspie Ramirez
  3. QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 12, 2014 ->05:30 PM) you do have a point about more players being avail. i do like Victorino, but his contract is something i really don't like. If they took back Danks it'd be ideal. Maybe they want another starter for the rotation
  4. QUOTE (Vance Law @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 04:47 PM) Don't know if it's already been mentioned here, but if they do end up keeping Viciedo, Seth Smith might be a good option. After getting Kemp, Padres are reportedly trying to get Upton. I have been advocating for him since last off season. Then he went and signed an extension -.-
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 03:38. PM) We've been talking for 2 years, the White Sox are the only ones interested in it now, the mariners aren't any more, which happens to be exactly what you'd expect if the guy struggled for 2 years and had his salary rise to $4 million+. "One more serious" doesn't exactly mean both aren't. Just that one is more open to it now than before.
  6. Also, about 70-80% of the time, there will be a right handed starter on the mound for what its worth
  7. Part of me thinks that if we acquire an outfielder that teams will just wait for the Sox to dfa him
  8. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 06:29 AM) Because he continuously lights them up every time we play them. Its true. It seems like he hits at least 2 homers a series every time we play there
  9. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 04:30 AM) I think he's counting Eaton and Danks, who projectJohmsomDanks fourth outfielder. Still though. Pick up the best available bat and if he happens to bat left handed, add a right handed 4th OF like Ruggiano or Johnson
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 07:14 PM) The line about too LH makes no sense to me. You have Avi and Eaton out there, with Shuck probably the 4th outfielder. If the Cubs sign Gomes, I wonder if they'd make Ruggiano available? Thats who I was going to suggest too. I was also thinking earlier, lets make another deal with Billy for Coco Crisp!
  11. QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 01:08 PM) I don't think either of them would bring back enough in a trade to warrant moving them. Keep Petricka as your swing man and Webb as the potential guy who can become a dynamic set up man. I don't really think we're in a position to be trading relief pitchers either way and other teams aren't going to be targeting ours to fix their pens so it's really a moot point. R CL Robertson R SU Petricka L SU Duke R MR Webb L MR Jennings Last two spots between Putnam, Guerra, Onelki Garcia, Surkhamp and whatever retreads we bring in. Any of those guys durable enough to start/long relief? I also think Webb starts the year in the minors
  12. Its kinda funny too that the Dodgers are paying Dee Gordon and Dan Haren's salary in 15 too haha
  13. QUOTE (Butter Parque @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 12:32 PM) And then that money would pay for a LF or RF? Yeah as you would be clearing like 20 mill off the books moving Viciedo and Danks
  14. QUOTE (Butter Parque @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 12:27 PM) Not a Webb fan. Wouldn't have a problem with it. I just hope its not Crawford. I don't think it would be. My idea was that they would attach a good reliever with him to be able to clear all of Danks salary without having to pay any
  15. With all the relievers we are bringing in, I can totally see Hahn trying to get creative on a deal attaching one of Petricka, Putnam, Guerra in a deal with Danks to a team that needs starting pitching and bullpen depth and can take on Danks contract
  16. What a great deal for this team! The way I see it: Bassitt and Ynoa may be a wash as both may end up in the pen, We didn't need Phegley on this team as he couldn't hit or field, Ravelo really didn't have room on this team, but obviously Semien has the most upside out of this group. And then we either extend Samardzija or collect a draft pick for him.
  17. Bring back Keppinger on a minor league deal. Just kidding...but we are still paying him.
  18. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 09:50 AM) Well, depending on who that other free agent is, that team could get the #2 and the Yankees bumped down to #3. I don't think that's true
  19. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 08:25 AM) He belongs in the rotation right out of spring training imo. I don't think that's going to happen but I think it gives us the best chance of winning and long term I think it's best for his development too. I say let him develop some in the minors for two months and then call him up for Noesi or a Danks trade.
  20. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 06:13 AM) I went to bed last night when this deal was "on the verge" with the Sox giving up Semien and Danish+. I like this deal better, provided the third player isn't Danish or Thompson. Now hearing that Shark could extend is even better. Thompson is a bust. Don't know why people would care if he got dealt.
  21. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 12:35 AM) Holy s*** I forgot all about Nate. If Jones comes back strong, that bullpen will have Robertson, Jones, Duke, Putnam, Petricka. Then a LOOGY and Bassitt/Noesi. Like. Jones isn't supposed to be back until August
  22. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 8, 2014 -> 03:50 PM) It worked out well for Liriano. Pirates have actually had a lot of success past few seasons turning guys around. Burnett, Liriano, Volquez
  23. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Dec 8, 2014 -> 08:14 AM) Rodon? For 1 year of Shark? Are you nuts? Rodon may be able to = Shark, a number 2 at best, next year. Alexei only. No way does a team with 3/4 top prospects give 1/4-1/3 of that for shark. Even secondary prospects like Rondon, who becomes elite if he learns to hit, should be off the table. And if you carefully read the posts on the last page, no one is suggesting this...
  24. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 8, 2014 -> 06:51 AM) I will say I'm 99.9999% say that Rodon won't be involved. Yeah I'm just saying that I really only consider a few guys untouchable prospects in our org prospect wiese and hes one of them.
