I hope they addressed not only Tyrique Stevenson's hail mary problem but also being a guy who tries to poke people through their mask. He got what he deserved. It's just sad it was at the Bears expense. That poking people through the mask s%*# should have been shut down the first time it happened. I know its been at least 2 times now he did that. I was onboard with giving Eberflus this year but now I am good with moving on.

LMAO if Soto gets even 500m how dumb does it look we didn't even try for Machado or Harper. They'd be asking for 500-700 now. Soto won't get 700 because he's not also a pitcher. Insane ask and I'd be willing to bet he ends up in the 400-450 area at most. 500 if the Dodgers or someone insane gets involved.

I'm out of patience. It's all the same s%*#. They're gonna get DJ Moore killed as well.

I'm over here laughing that the Sox and Cardinals brought in the Dodgers because they couldn't link up on prospects and then cards got him basically for free. Amazing. The Cards actually out there telling Chris he can't have any of their prospects for a very serviceable pitcher and he caved. Almost like the Baltimore fans coming in here saying we can't have any of their top 5 for Cease. Probably the Os GM said the same stuff to Getz. Pathetic. I blame Jerry for this. Every GM on the sun knows Getz is in the worst position possible because his owner is a POS and also new to the job and are raking him over the coals. Even an idiot like Hahn was able to extract exciting value (at the time) for guys like Eaton, Sale and Quintana. Getz is cooked man. Launch this franchise into the sun.

Cease has no hitter going into 8th vs. WSH
Southwest Sider replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Thorpe is the key. If he can be about as good as Cease, it's a win for us since we control him for longer. Any of the other prospects panning out would make it very much a W for us. -

Not worth any of their top 5. We all said how ridiculous that was at the time. Now it rings even truer. Their loss. -

They'll win 50 and lose 50. What will they do with the other 62? Lost most of them. -

Apparently he was one the top 2 most important players for Iowa. If he's as good as advertised and able to constantly pin teams behind the 10, then this is actually an incredible pick that should pay massive dividends for the defense. -

Mookie Betts vs the Sox tracker.
Southwest Sider replied to Ozzie for Manager's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This is another guy the Sox should have gone balls to the wall to trade for since they didn't get Harper. Everyone remembers the Harper ordeal but not even trying for Mookie was just as big a blunder, IMO. -

I didn't know Cash Considerations had a sibling. -
TLR was the 3rd nail in the coffin. Not going balls to the wall for Harper/Wheeler the 2nd. Ultimately, with hindsight though, the moment in time where it all went to s%*# was when whoever made the decision to deprioritize player development and ALL Latin American spending except for Cuba. Even if it wasn't a conscious decision, nowhere in basically 20 years did someone stand up and say "We suck at this and need to do whatever it takes to get better"... Which seems to be right around after they won the World Series and stopped producing their own Magglios, Carlos Lee's, Credes, Rowands, etc. Not supplementing this core we had with our own well developed players doomed this "rebuild" and is the primary reason this franchise has not been competitive at all since 2008, with the 2nd factor being never going after premium talent. It all starts at the top.
