  1. I love the potential of Nick Madrigal but I'm in for trading him for potentially one of the best SP in baseball. We'll get to watch him hit .360 against the Cubs. Nick's gonna hit. A lot.
  2. Please sign Nelson Cruz. I'm willing to roll the dice on him continuing to be extremely productive vs. his potential future fall off. Age has only made Nelson better. As long as his body holds up, the dude has a brilliant hitting mind that should not regress.
  3. Boston wouldn't have made sense but since NY is competing it makes sense. Stupid east coast fascination with people. It's not any better over there than it is here.
  4. Goodness I must have had a premonition when I jokingly posted BREAKING NEWS about an hour before this broke to lighten that thread up a bit. Lol good stuff.
  5. The ultimate troll: Mitch Trubiskey won the NVP trophy. Gotta be disheartening being handed that when everyone's gonna lose their jobs.
  6. Therein lies the problem, the place you speak of has exquisite things to many people. A long time ago we took a field trip to Portillos. I was going to get my regular hot dog. My friend convinced me to try the beef and it changed my life. Burgers are so good too. If you're feeling like a slob the double bacon burger is where its at.
  7. I think she was talking about the Lindor trade in terms of "giving up". poor use of the word "entire".
  8. God, stuff like this makes it seem like we have a really good chance of landing him. Gonna be so annoying when he signs with the Padres. Am glad to hear the Sox are apparently huge with programs like Codify, though. That's dope.
  9. I hope it's over soon. So tired of waiting, waiting waiting.... just to find out he signs elsewhere lmao
  10. Can we please have a decade where the Packers have no QB after Rodgers is gone? It's basically hell being a Bears fan.
  11. If he sucks the 4th year, or even the 3rd, we will have an internal option to replace him. But I don't like this confidence. It seems to never work out this way.
  12. I had a dream that the Trevor Bauer signing was analogous to catching a fish, but in this case there were 2 entities catching at the same time, and only one would win. One of them was the White Sox, the other was unknown at the time. Obviously the other one won. When I finally found out who this "mystery" team was, it turned out to be a team (or entity) that I had never heard of, thus dream-state-me declared that it was a bot! The entity insisted it was not a bot. Fair enough. But, my subconscious immediately interpreted that the White Sox are so bad at landing big FAs, that there's no surprise that they'd lose to bots as well as real teams. That's pretty sad... JR.
  13. Did he play last year in the World Series? Are "championship" players players who only played in the last World Series? I guess that would disqualify Springer. Howie Kendrick. Howie is 37 and Eaton is 32. And Howie is ready to retire now, but could probably keep playing if he wanted. Howie has always been a "championship" player, but like most players isn't on the right team. This is not an apt comparison at all. What exactly is your definition of a "championship" player? For me, it's players who can contribute to winning a championship. Adam Eaton clearly contributed to the Nationals winning a championship (only 2 years ago...), but aside from that a healthy productive Adam Eaton is a very good player capable of helping other teams win championships.
  14. If Contreras is in that deal, the Cubs are definitely getting Gore ++
  15. Underrated beer by the way. I heard it's an old German recipe that was brought to Mexico and ended up with Modelo? Or something like that.
  16. Dude, what? Kurt Suzuki is an FA? If he's cool being a backup, please sign him!
  17. I just looked at his stats, and I am all aboard the Brantley train. He shouldn't be too expensive, he's not TOO old yet, and he has flat out just been a damn good AL hitter.
  18. Meh, if RagahRagah and folks weren't interacting, then there'd be no conversation at all. This thread has basically run its course, why not let it die naturally like most threads? With 2 or 3 people arguing endlessly for pages. The Hot Stove has become mighty cold lately. It's either this or nothing, most likely.
  19. Ah, indeed, well during the rebranding / new logo process they may land on some new C lettering. It's possible they find one better but I do dig their current one.
  20. I loved their post-wahoo branding. That C is awesome. They should find a way to keep that during their new branding process...which may take over a year.
  21. LMAO at Soxtalk extrapolating that the Sox are not pursuing Hendriks from whatever Bernstein said, then telling Cheezy Beef that Dan Bernstein said "the sox are not going to sign Hendriks", turning it into Twitter thing with Cheesy Beef and actual Dan Bernstein.
  22. I'm sure they were at this party all along. Who wouldn't want Hendriks? And with how notorious we are for not overpaying, why wouldn't these guys automatically think they have a shot?
