Dont disagree with you regarding TAs price but this team needs to be flushed down the toilet. No sense letting any more turds stick onto the side of the toilet, all it does it stink up the joint.
-
It is honestly that bad for me too. What we were promised and what we ended up with is a straight up disservice to the fans. This is a year they were supposed to be a prime WS contender and missing opportunities to beat a team like the Diamondbacks just plain sucks. Also I would have been a pig in s%*# since I live in AZ and would have spent way too much money going to games. ? The Sox... they gawn.
-
When we saw him he was being developed by the White Sox. The A's couldn't believe how raw he still was when they got him (at least defensively). Its just another peanut in the White Sox's turd.
-
Good teams can lose their best RH hitter and barely skip a beat. Congrats to the Rangers for doing a rebuild the right way and convincing a HOF manager to join them in their journey. Reinsdorf should be ashamed of how he operates things. Every year he is proven again to be a farce of an owner.

Become a Dbacks fan and you dont have to worry anymore about the "we" white Sox. Those people are a bunch of fucking morons, of course they will never have a Corbin Carroll.
-
Having moved to Phoenix 2.5 years ago, it's very easy to cheer on a team like the Dbacks. My old team does not develop players to get them ready for big games like Arizona does. Yin and yang. The white Sox frankly need to be launched into the sun. This world series should be a stark reminder to those fucking morons what could have been. Go Dbacks!

Maybe Bruce had no interest.. hed be wise not to... but f*** either way it just sucks. He either didnt want to come here or we didnt even try. A guy who won 3 championships in 6 years and was available. Just another feather in the s%*# pile for this dog s%*# organization that needs to be launched into the sun.

I dunno man. I was one who got a TA Jersey- he was amazing and seemed like a great example and a leader for this team. What has transpired the past few years has been discouraging. Flipping off Cleveland fans? Please dude...leave that to us. All the distracting baby mama nonsense. The complete 180 on his power... its completely gone. Remember his wife would make him spaghetti when he hit a home run? Now he doesnt hit home runs... I wonder why. I admit that's a ridiculous theory but kind of fun lol he dont like his wife anymore so he doesnt hit home runs so she wont make him spaghetti.

The Astros may have been the team caught cheating but that happened and they just went out and continued to dominate the AL afterward. You gotta respect that. We wish the Sox could hold the Astros jock at this point. Hate them all you want, and I wont try to change your mind, but at this point several years removed from the scandal its my opinion that they are now the class of the AL and it's not even close.

Holy jumpin!

Our inability to develop baseball players who arent ready "out of the box" has been exposed. Colas likely lashed out last year because he saw how dogshit it was in our minors. I dont know anything about Colas and his demeanor but I am way less likely to give the Sox the benefit of the doubt than someone like Colas and myriad other young ballplayers who may have craved development in our org. Colas probably found that it was absolutely dog s%*# and then said he needs to be in the Majors around other ML players and coaches to actually improve as a player. Another wasted talent. Hopefully he catches on wherever he goes next.

Calling it a strategy is being nice about it. Dave Wilder recently interviewed by the Athletic discussed how little resources he was given. Vehicles that barely worked, etc. JR does not value Latin American pipelines and frankly, I have no fucking idea how he luckboxed his way into a Cuban pipeline. It honestly cant be because of any great effort or resources he gave his scouts. Who have the Sox developed since Maggs and C Lee from Latin America who wasnt a "ready to go" Cuban line Alexei and Abreu? I honestly cannot think of anyone. Yolmer maybe? The talk about Colas here is discouraging - maybe he is an asshole but the Sox probably did him no favors. Nor Dayan Viciedo. Nor any poor Latin who ends up in this miserable organization. It's not a strategy, it's a fucking blatant disregard for cultivating a market of passionate baseball players who can help make your organization successful. Another bullshit White Sox way mindset where we are so much smarter than everyone else because we dont spend money. Launch this dumb ass organization into the sun.

Laughing at the idea of Ohtani is the last straw for me. Yeah let's laugh at the idea if adding the best player in baseball to our roster. Just like we laughed at the idea of Bryce Harper and cried when Machado got his deal with SD. And laughed at the idea of Miguel Cabrera because we would have had to take Dontrelle Willis too. Meanwhile we miss out on Miggys 45 or so fWAR over 8 or so seasons because of what dumb ass short sighted reason actually? f*** the White Sox. Launch this dumb ass POS org into the moon.
-
What a miserable franchise. Many of the guys we took a pass on for White Sox reasons are out there proving us wrong. Except some of the Padres guys I guess. So much "what could have been"... sigh.

Harper, Castellanos, Schwarber HRs. Phil's really know how to pick free agents! Who would have thought the most talented free agents would produce and be worth their contracts leading a team to back to back LCS.
-
They knew they'd never be in the ballpark of what we got from Philly. The Sox are a top 5 most pathetic franchise in the MLB. The market is what it is for the best players and Reinsdorf simply doesnt even compete and stubbornly sticks to his guns. Couple that with inadequate resources on the farm and it's a recipe for disaster. Go D'backs.

2024 MLB Draft Order (Reverse Standings)
Southwest Sider replied to Bob Sacamano's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Luis Robert is a fine ballplayer and about as cant miss as it gets. In my opinion he would be doing well in any organization (perhaps even better somewhere like Atlanta) so I'm not about ready to give the Sox credit for his development. I just feel like the list of failures is much larger than successes anyway. For example, how have we been doing with Andrew Dalquist and Matthew Thompson, 2 HS pitchers I think everyone was pretty excited about. Their stats look terrible and they walk too many batters. These guys should be at the point now where they are making waves in our system given their draft status and one isnt even in our top 30. Anyone can develop cant miss talent but it's what you do on the margins that matters and the Sox simply dont and it's why we have a bottom 10 farm. -
2024 MLB Draft Order (Reverse Standings)
Southwest Sider replied to Bob Sacamano's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Are you trying to tell me they are getting better at it or just drafted some talented high schoolers? Believe me I'm happy they are trying but nothing about the talent development in this organization screams to me that they will be anything more than a detractor to these talented youngsters. -
2024 MLB Draft Order (Reverse Standings)
Southwest Sider replied to Bob Sacamano's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Is anyone actually excited about picking 3rd or 4th? Normally I'd be pretty happy to add an elite prospect but our farm sucks so much and the future seems so hopeless that not even this matters. They'll just go with a "safe" college bat like Vaughn because they know they can't develop high schoolers for s%*#. -
That Jerry wont be giving Getz any more funds or leeway for building a real minor league system and that he will be just as hamstrung as Hahn/KW may have been.
-
Damn I always thought of this thread as the all too wishful thinking thread in perpetuity. Yet here we are. This thread can actually be closed.
-
I sort of feel bad for Getz. I think he was just given a job he had no business doing and now hes "part of the problem". Oh well he probably got paid well at least.
-
We are in the worst case scenario. -Our previous leader Abreu couldn't wait to leave, 3 years after saying hed sign pretty much any contract to stay. -Our GM who has said would quit if he thought he wasnt the guy for the job, clearly still thinks hes the guy for the job. Ownership too loyal to cut the cord. KW likely has checked out and is picking up free paychecks for his title, reaping rewards of overly loyal ownership. - Managerial changes too often. I honestly can't get mad at Grifol. He may stink, but the problems go far deeper than him. -Rotten clubhouse that does not win and lose together or seemingly take ownership of the fate of this franchise. Is this TAs fault? It does not seem that he is a natural born leader and couple that with the TLR years, our clubhouse is just toxic to winning at this point. Someone tried to have some fun though and made that cool HR costume. -Our best contract ever given is to basically another Adam Eaton. Lose out or dont even try for the actual top talent. - Publicly telling one of your best pitchers you are not going to keep him or even try. Yes he may have left anyway but imagine the message it sends to the rest of the league. Why play for us? Especially if you are a union rep... look at how miserable AJ Pollack was here. - During all of the bad years, save for the LaRoche drama, I could usually say that I really like the players and know they try hard. I cannot say the same for this group. They look miserable and unfun. - We are stuck with terrible, antiquated ownership that has allowed this toxic situation to happen. Theres literally nothing we can do except wait it out, whatever it is, and I hope it ends with someone not named Reinsdorf running the show. Until then frankly enjoy a team that gives a s%*#. The Ray's are a nice neutral team to us with no hatred or rivalry but a great organization who can bring actual enjoyable baseball to people. Or be like me and partake in other hobbies or sources of entertainment. I hate this franchise. Why am I still here?

Red Sox @ White Sox 6/24/23 3:10pm

My tinfoil theory is TA stopped hitting Homer's because he didnt want anymore spaghetti from his wife.
