  1. I believe some clown here said the Sox would be in 4th place in the AL East like 3 days ago.
  2. I absolutely hate the bunt, but there isn't a better feeling when it seems like it's going to be a tough play and you see that ball go into RF....
  3. Get out of this with the score being 4-2, all is well...
  4. It's shocking where this team is at all things considered. Everyone involved deserves a ton of credit.
  5. Yeah, I mean that part is obvious. But the bigger issue here, to me…is how MLB handled it. Yes, this is a large problem, these guys shouldn’t have been “cheating” and it needs to stop. But MLB knew it was going on and did nothing for years. Then in the middle of the season, they threw the hammer down. Sorry, but that’s not right. I believe Glasnow. Right or wrong, MLB enabled these guys and allowed them to skirt this…and when you take it away without notice….there are issues that are bigger than guys just losing spin rate. Can’t wait to see how this all shakes out.
  6. You're 100% correct, but his general point is still true that if/when the Sox acquire a bat....ideally it's someone that bats LH and can really knock around RHP, because the splits show us they are in fact better against LHP and some balance would be nice.
  7. I'm still not overly convinced they need another arm. If I had my pick, it would be a bat. Granted, the health of the entire pitching staff has been pretty insane and I don't totally expect that to continue....however if it does by October, you're looking at Lynn-Los-Gio-Dallas as the rotation with Hendricks-Crochet-Kopech-Cease-Bummer out there.
  8. Nex week is going to be tough. I imagine this place is going to be all sorts of upset when the Sox don't sweep the Rays and Astros. Just collect as many W's as possible, get ready for October. Pirates, Mariners, Twins, Tigers, Twins, Orioles then the All-Star Break......GET FAT against those scrubs, build a big lead in the AL Central, add a key piece and get healthy for the playoffs.
  9. I wonder what the conversation will be around Castellanos. My guess is the Reds are out of it by the deadline. Nick is putting up huge numbers and also has an opt-out after the season. Not sure he uses it, but it could lessen his value on the market…
  10. Said this in the Madrigal thread, but the deadline is a ways away, so much could and probably will change by then. 1.You’ll have a much better idea about the recovery of Robert and Eloy. Nicky as well, but for whatever reason my gut tells me he’s done for the year 2. Who knows what the health of this team looks like in 5 week, someone else could go down 3. In 5 weeks, there are going to be a number of teams that are “in it” right now that won’t be then. 4. Most importantly….this team needs to just keep putting away W’s. The Indians are the only threat to the Sox in the division and as we know, they may sell if things stay the course. If the Sox hit a rough patch here with Tampa and Houston, things may get a lot tighter. It’s very possible that happens. But if the Sox continue to expand their division lead, a trade this season is strictly for the playoffs, not to win the division. They need to wait, identify a few key players who they believe may be able to help them in October, and hopefully make a few key additions to go along with the return of Robert and Eloy.
  11. The Sox should win this game. Have a great afternoon ladies and gentlemen.
  12. Jason narrating that kid looking for something was really funny actually.
  13. Love the swag, but the dude stinks the last 40 days.
  14. You're not wrong, Poppy. Now granted Mercedes has sort of cratered back to earth, but maybe he picks it up again...he 100% will have the opportunity to show us that. But to your point, Mercedes is 100% in AAA if we have a healthy roster. If Vaughn can pick up his hitting a bit in the 2nd half, I still think he might be the RF for next season, and hopefully, Mercedes can put together a solid 2nd half that gives the Sox hope he can stick at DH. (I'd still love to get a real LF and have Eloy DH at this point, but whatever) It's not perfect by any means, but the injuries have given the Sox opportunities to see what they have in some guys and all the while the Sox are still in 1st.
