  1. I see very little chance Nicky is in any sort of compeition next season for 2B, unless Mendick hits like .350 the rest of the season...or they give up Crochet and pieces for Ketel
  2. Not yet. See how the next three weeks go. I don't the Sox going into a dramatic tailspin. You wait it out, see how guys perform. They still need to "go for it" this year but they also have to balance the lack of depth in the farm. Additionally, you have your entire lineup set for 2021, so the piece in theory should be a rental. I'm sure they get aggressive, and I agree a move needs to be made...but I wouldn't panic yet.
  3. Absolutely brutal. The pitching has stayed intact (For now, please knock on wood) but I don't know if these guys can survive another position player going down.
  4. Maybe don't post every thought that comes into your head?
  5. Based on how this season has gone…..there is no reason for any hope when it comes to injuries…
  6. Right now (It's incredibly early) Lynn is the Game 1 starter for the Sox in the Playoffs. I'll take it.
  7. lol, people were upset we traded this guy for the Sox ace.
  8. Haven’t bought a jersey in years, but went through a weird phase back in the day Maggs Billy Koch (for real) Pierzynski Rowand Jenks Brian Anderson (44 jersey) BA ended my jersey career.
  9. Had a hunch this was going to be a fun series and Game 1 lived up to the hype.
  10. I mean, that's what happens when you bring in CJ Edwards
  11. Thanks for the 3-0 swing. Also, Jason is 100% right, that was an awesome inning to watch all around.
  12. Alright Carlos, sack up, get this fucker out, hand it over to the pen.
  13. Except they aren't, they play in the AL Central, and they were ranked No. 2 in the latest MLB Power Rankings, you enormous turd.
  14. Man Yermin just pounding balls into the dirt. Not great to see
  15. Haven't seen a lot of the Jays this year and excited to watch them for a few days, should be a fun series.
  16. Except NO ONE, ever, has played the game to win by one run. You play to score as many runs as possible.
  17. In 2021, this statement is like, 104% incorrect. How are you so bad at this?
  18. I think baseball, the media and the fan base is in a MUCH different place than they were in 1997. Rebuilding or "being bad on purpose" is way more accepted today then it was back then. Additionally, the idea of them selling was talked about for almost this entire offseason. Lastly, the media landscape is so much different with the internet, with so many voices out there, opinions can be formed in a much different way. Even in 1997, if a few beat reporters and columnists killed the move...that basically shaped the entire narrative. It's not the same in 2021. I also think you have much smarter people in the media to give a more nuanced opinion.
  19. I don't have a ton of die hard Cub fans in my circle, but the few I do have all said they looked at this year as a rebuilding year and realize 2021 isn't going to result in a World Series, so start the process. Now I know a ton of people won't embrace that idea and want to see Rizzo-Bryant-Javy-Contreras all stay forever but I do think if they fall in the standings a bit and aren't in first place by July 31, they can get away with trading a few core pieces and not get totally killed by the fanbase. We'll see.
  20. They have a long way to go until the trading deadline. However, if they are still in first at that point....they'll get destroyed if they trade KB for prospects. But I think they can pull it off with the fans even if they are 2-3 games out. Because I think this was the plan the entire time.....Jed anticipated re-stocking the farm with a few of these trades and I think the future becomes a lot harder for them if they "go for it" in 2021.
