  1. If the Bears found their QB star, and a 10 year OL starter, it doesn’t matter what they gave up to get it.
  2. More than a year. This 100% buys them another rebuild IMO, unless the next 18 months are just an embarrassment.
  3. Feel like he's got to see some action one way or another, but I actually like the Dalton move more now, use him as an actual bridge QB.
  4. I said it with the Trubisky pick and I'll say it with this pick. I like the conviction to go get your guy. It better be the right one.
  5. Bunting in the 3rd inning...in 2021. Man.
  6. Please, quick, someone make the argument TLR is putting the team in the best position to win... LaRussa knows best, right @poppysox?
  7. I don't like Larry The Cable Guy. I don't think he's funny. You are Larry The Cable Guy.
  8. Jokes aren’t funny from people you don’t like.
  9. You should try getting a life sometime, aside from me living in your head. You’ll be a happier, champ.
  10. I don't think you wanted TLR to die, either. I think you were upset during the game like many of us were and said something stupid. I'm just pointing out when you do say something stupid like that, it's not easy for others to assume that "clearly I don't wish anyone ill will over a baseball game" when that's exactly what you did." Which is sort of the point of this thread. Just don't cross the line. We all have a pretty good idea of what that line is.
  11. I don't want to pile on here, but you wished death on a manager because of his decisions in the game. I don't know if you can really use "clearly" here....
  12. But you said it's unfair for fans to "second guess" the manager, when we've established it's not second guessing when you know it's the wrong call before the event took place. Is that right?
  13. Strong disagree. If they are below .500 in August, or key players start getting more vocal, it's well within reality for Tony to say after the season "I was so thankful to get back into the dugout one more time with a great group of guys, but after turning 77 in October, I think it's time to enjoy retirement once and for all.'
  14. Yep, you'll be perfectly fine. You'll still be wrong, but you'll live. ?
  15. If your "opinion" is that fans don't have the right to "question" the manager, then I can't say I respect yours.
  16. Except you’re acting like Tony La Russa, “Baseball God” can’t be wrong because of how long he has been in the game. No one is second guessing anything. It’s not that, so stop calling it that. It’s not second guessing when down 5-2 in the 8th inning, with runners on base, you send Billy Hamilton and Leury Garcia to the plate, “looking for a single.” Fans were SCREAMING asking what the hell Tony was doing. It was a bum call before it happened, it was a bum call after it happens. Jason and Steve, employees of the team were doing everything in their power on the broadcast not to say how bad of a move it was, DURING THE GAME. It’s all the media talked after the game. So stop it.
  17. I don't really care what he thinks or what the reason is......whatever reason he's doing it, it's wrong.
  18. Honestly, SHAME on the Sox reporters for not pressing this harder. Down 5-2 in the 8th inning and you're looking for a single in that situation? What are we doing here?
  19. Here is the thing....TLR didn't lose this game for the Sox. They didn't execute. That's on them. A manager has a limited impact on the game. Tonight.........we saw the type of impact a manager can have. Decisions like having Hamilton bat with runners on in a 5-2 game. Not knowing when your ace needs to be lifted......that's unacceptable when quite frankly a baseball manager isn't responsible for much.
  20. We really should make members take some sort of novice baseball exam before signing up....yikes.
  21. Stone and Jason are doing everything they can to say Tony is having an awful night without actually saying it
  22. Down 5-2 in the 8th, letting Hamilton hit over Andrew Vaughn simply defies any sort of logic. It can't be explained.
  23. The White Sox have a bad manager. That’s it.
