  1. Then it’s simple. If you’re prepared and OK with calling people ignorant and being the arbiter of what’s “logical” then be prepared for the consequences.
  2. Except you’re the only one that seems to always take exception when someone takes a shot at you. And instead of addressing the multiple complaints people have against you, you always lean on your crutch of “Well at least I’m staying on topic!” You always accuse people of deflecting....wonder why that is? ?
  3. No, but that doesn’t mean your opinion then becomes fact. I’m simply stating you don’t know other offers that were out there for Grandal and Keuchle. Neither do I.
  4. I’m all for some good Spring Training hope, but if we just go on quotes alone Cease and Lopez may be battling it out for Cy Young this year....just saying let’s keep expectations in check a little bit with these guys. Katz isn’t that good and Cooper couldn’t have been that bad...right?!?!!
  5. You are stating this as fact when you simply don’t know it to be true.
  6. You’ve undoubtedly had some awful posts on this site. I mean, some real memorable pieces of shit....but this one belongs in some sort of “Hall of Garbage” It’s has to be so exhausting going through life that angry, that angry, that hostile.....and you’re doing it over something that is a CHOICE OF ENTERTAINMENT. It’s not like we’re talking about the choices of our government or religion.....the pure venom spewed by you post after post and post.....making the effort to not only feel that way over something you’re supposed to enjoy, but to come to a message board to make sure everyone else knows you how feel...it’s quite something.
  7. Finale was super rushed I felt. Should have been 10 episodes. I think overall the series was solid, just left me feeling meh at the end.
  8. So they have a few options. But basically, Seabrook will remain on LTIR for the rest of his contract. His salary and cap hit stay on the books in the offseason. The Hawks will need to be under or at the 81.5 million dollar salary cap. However, once the season starts, Seabrook will be placed on LTIR and that cap hit comes off the books for the season, which means the Hawks could acquire a player to fit that salary window. But once the season ends......that Seabrook contract is back on the books until Day 1 of the NEXT season. That's why just acquiring another long term, expensive piece isn't that easy. Seattle and the expansion draft could be their shot to get them to take the Seabrook deal if they aren't planning on competing for a few years, but the Hawks would have to send over a fairly nice package for Seattle to accept. Hope that helps a little bit.
  9. Retire 7 for Seabrook/Chelios. It was time. Dude was an absolute beast, just love 7. Will be interesting to see if anyone will be in the market for a LITR contract like the Hawks did with Hossa.
  10. Spring Training means nothing....but if these are my only two options...the good news is way more important than the bad news here
  11. So awful poster aside, been thinking something Balta mentioned and the more I think about it.....the entire season comes down to two things. Health and Dylan Cease. This team is not very deep and doesn’t have a ton of reinforcements ready to replace key pieces in the lineup and rotation. The boys need to stay healthy. The other is Cease. We all feel fairly comfortable saying the 1-2-3 in the rotation should provide the Sox with quality production. If Cease can finally make the leap, the rotation is completely changed, and filling that 5th spot every day doesn’t seem as big of a challenge. If Cease continues his 2020 performance into 2021, you’re going to have a ton of long bullpen performances, on back to back days. So not only are you not getting good production out of the 4-5 spots in the rotation, but you’re killing another strength of your team in the bullpen and exposing them to high inning workloads. If the Sox keep their type guys on the field and Dylan Cease can become a quality ML pitcher....this team wins 95-100 games.
  12. I do think there is something that plays into that, especially with what went down in Seattle. At this point, we have to hope Katz and the Front Office knows better than we do. I would put money on the fact they do.....but we'll see.
  13. This right here is why everyone argues with you and thinks you’re an absolute dick...you always lean on “I see no issue with having a civil discussion that doesn’t result in name calling, it’s beneath me..” but in the majority of your posts you call some ignorant or blind if they don’t share your same viewpoint. The high horse game only works if you actually ride the high horse, something you’ve NEVER DONE.
  14. I don’t totally like it and think they could have signed some guys to fairly cheap deals to allow Kopech time in AAA, but look at it this way......what you’re obviously getting at is this speeds up the service time clock for Kopech, he’ll reach Arb status and FA status sooner.......if cost is an issue with Kopech and as fans we believe the Sox won’t spend enough to keep Kopech around, something went VERY right in the development process and we are probably talking about a World Series with the Sox over the next three years.
  15. Thus far, this thread is the perfect encapsulation of the hyperbole coming from both sides of White Sox fandom. And it’s exactly how we treat politics in this country right now as well. If you’re on the right, you a Qanon loving, racist idiot and if you’re on the left, you must be a socialist loving commie liberal that hates America. Of course 95% of Americans aren’t either, but that’s how the “other side” is defined because of a very small vocal minority. Like most things.....there is nuance to the conversation. Most Sox fans are NOT negative about the upcoming season. But being “positive” about the Sox in 2021 doesn’t mean you should ignore the very real concerns that could haunt this team. I’m very excited for White Sox baseball in 2021. If you aren’t, in my opinion I don’t really understand why you would cheer for a team. They are a young, likable bunch on the come up and should provide us a ton of memorable moments this upcoming season. I was also disappointed with how resources were managed in the off-season. I wish they spent more money, and the money that they did spend should have been used in different areas in my opinion. I don’t like the idea of the season resting on Dylan Cease turning into a solid MLB pitcher. The point is...you can feel both things! So please...stop with the hyperbole on both sides.
  16. 3 quality starters with their 4th and 5th slots mostly being combination of trash and question marks. And they lost in the divisional series. Which speaks to this entire argument at hand. You’ve mocked anyone who has shown any sort of optimism for this team and if anyone projects over 85 wins for the Sox, they must be insane.....yet when I bring up the Yankees lack of depth on the mound and their projected win total for the year....the argument is “Well it’s the Yankees, so they’ll be good no matter what.” That’s a Swiss cheese position to take but you won’t back down because god forbid you ever answer for your shit takes.
  17. Affects things for who? The fans or players? Again, for someone who loves to play the “logic” card and will call out anyone who you don’t agree with...this is a pretty wild hill to die on. The Yankees have maybe 2.5 starters you can count on at this point. Could it work out? Absolutely......but this is the exact same situation the Sox find themselves in, and I’d argue the Sox rotation is in a better place than the Yankees. I’ve had plenty of issues myself with the White Sox off-season. But your position is basically “Well the Yankees historically are a good team, so that must happen this year.” Is amateur hour.
  18. Ah got it, so because Alex Rodriguez, CC Sabathia, Derek Jeter and Mark Texieria help the Yankees be a powerhouse for all these last few years, they are better than the 2021 White Sox. We won’t mention their rotation is Gerrit Cole, Corey Kluber, Jameson Taillon, Jordan Montgomery and Domingo German. For someone that LOVES playing traffic cop when people aren’t addressing the issue or not using “logic” you seem to be running away from this one, champ. Weird.
  19. Oh I don’t know, the rosters? By using that same “logic” why is everyone so high on the Padres when they’ve had one winning season in the last decade?!??
  20. So then you must think the protection of the Yankees wining close to 100 games is also insane,’right?
  21. The whole system needs an entire overhaul. Honestly, service time should be seven years but should start when a player plays his first MiLB game. Players should be getting to FA quicker. I know it's not great for the fans or ownership, but these players should be getting paid the biggest money when they are in their prime, not at 29-30 when they eventually hit the market.
  22. Fuck Russia https://nypost.com/2021/02/22/artemi-panarin-taking-rangers-leave-of-absence-after-russian-hit-piece/
