Mike Clevinger under investigation for domestic violence
Tony replied to RibbieRubarb's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Imagine for a second, a poster like yourself, has already made multiple posts in a thread about this domestic violence situation. A simple click on your profile shows us you haven't made a post on this board since December 19, more than a month ago. That post on December 19th? Talking about how entertaining Trevor Bauer's YouTube channel is. I'm going to let all the facts play out here, but it would be easy for people to start making assumptions based on the evidence presented, no? -

Which I certainly did not. With that said, there are posters here seemingly looking to poke holes in the accusers story, or posters that haven't been active in some time that are re-appearing to make sure everyone knows a man is "innocent to proven guilty!" That's not a hill I'd be comfortable dying on. -

As is the idea of someone being accused of domestic violence and expecting everyone to collectively say "Let's wait for the entire process to play out, I can't have any opinion on this" -
What a weirdo ?
-
I didn't think you did, lol. What's also weird is I can't imagine who the people are that actually "watch" those shows daily. I don't even know if they are in it for the broadcast, I feel like it's built for social

They want you to call a spade a spade hahaha. By the way, I hate it...it's trash TV...but I try not to let myself fall into the trap

Kyle, you know these short clips are created so they can be shared on message boards like this, correct? These morning shows are simply in the hot take business, what clips can go viral. That's allllll that matters. This new class of "analysts" aren't there to give you good information, they are there to create takes that can get people debating.

This literally has never been a thing in the entire franchise history

But the Sox did enough! What more could you expect!?!?

The problem with the White Sox is not 2B and RF, it's their "superstars."
Tony replied to VAfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I understand his approach or thought in knowing he can't spend top dollar for FA's, so he tried to lock up his core to competitive but long term deals before they debuted to have a real "window" to work with. But as we know, that core hasn't been able to stay on the field, or produce at a high level. He invested into the wrong horses. That's not a budget issue. That's a talent evaluation issue. -

He is a major part of it, yes. There are plenty of organizations much more successful than the White Sox that have done it with a much smaller payroll, consistently. I’m not saying there are serious limitations ownership has set on this FO, but let’s not pretend it’s an impossible task to build a winner with a $180 million payroll. It’s done every year. -
2023 MLB offseason signings and rumors thread
Tony replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Be ready for the “But what did you really expect them to do? This off-season has been pretty good, they were never going to spend money, be happy” crowd to come in and tell you you’re wrong. Shame on you for thinking they would try and actually act like a contender. -
Again, no one asked you to add the comment that you "have not been a big baseball fan of Liam" and YOU decided to post that in a thread about him being diagnosed with cancer. Given his performance on the field, it's entirely reasonable for someone to ask you "why" you haven't been a fan of his performance. Now you're playing the victim and saying people are piling on. It seemed like a simple question, that came from your original comment.

I do that trade easy.

Man I haven't thought about this movie in probably 20 years

With perfect health and players performing to their high-end ceilings....the team could be very good. If you take each players best year, and insert all of those numbers into a lineup of Anderson-Moncada-Eloy-Robert-Vaughn-Grandal-Benintendi, that team can hit the hell out of the baseball. Same goes for the pitching staff. The problem, of course, is that both of those things are totally unrealistic. Staying on the field has been a huge problem for most of the guys listed above, and we haven't seen those "high ceiling" numbers from a number of them in a while. So do with that what you will.

I think he's talking about where have we actually seen MODOK before, but I know what you're saying. The "character" that is playing the MODOK role in the MCU is a character we've seen before.
-
I'm sorry, in 2023 are you actually trying to make the argument that Sox fans don't support the organization enough?

While it 100% could happen, it shouldn't. There is zero reason this team shouldn't have 7-8 wins next year unless injuries totally take the team down.

What’s going to be interesting this off-season is to see what Poles does and doesn’t say about Fields. If they’re smart, he should give off lukewarm feelings and say everything is on the table. Publicly going all-in on Fields, even if that is the case, only hurts them when talking to other teams.
